Tournament play question ?

By Daenarys, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I am now getting to the stage where i would like gto get involved in tournaments.

I am aware that the game gets complex and there are often cards in play that may mean if you dont fulfill a certain criteria you then have to discrad your card ( for example paying gold to keep the card in play otherwise it gets discarded ).

In tournaments where does the onus lay to enforce the rules ? I am asking the question because often i find discards like this get overlooked which has a benefit to the card holder. Is the onus on the opponent(s) to enforce this ? If not and the mistakes keep happening then what would happen in a tournament environemnent ?

Thanks

In gameplay in general, Tournament or not, it's always a good idea to know not only what's on your side, but what's on your opponent's side.

In tournament play, if you notice that your opponent is not obeying the text of their cards correctly, it is up to the Organizer/Judge to decide how to handle the situation. As an organizer/judge myself, I try to keep an eye on all the games going on.

Personally, I would give a new player a bit of slack as they get used to the game, but if there's an expeirenced player who's consistently using cards wrong, I would probably start punishing them with game losses.
