Timing question : what card do his effect before another one ?

The topic subject is clear and here the situation.

I have Winterfell castle in play. In the plot phase, I put Threat from the North. So, how do I solve this ? For example, I have a 1 strenght character. Do the winterfell castle bonus apply before Threat from the North so my character don't die ?

Winterfell castle is a static effect so your stark characters always have +1 str you don't need to activate it.

If you had a location that said "kneel to give a character +1 str" you would have to use it BEFORE you choose the plot. You may only use responses to a plot card's effect.

In short, Winterfell Castle and Threat from the North will apply to your characters at the same time - effectively canceling each other out. You do not have to decide which one goes first, potentially seeing different results for different 1-STR characters. The rules say that all effects modifying a card's characteristic are added together and the result applied just one time.
