Lightbearers (Alternative Ending Card - Revealed)

  • All players start the game with characters of good alignment. Characters are always good; if an effect changes a character's alignment, he loses 1 life instead.
  • At the start of the game, each character must take 2 fate from the stockpile and place them on this card. Whenever night falls, discard 1 fate from this card. If the last fate is discarded, the game ends and all players lose. If a character enters the Crown of Command before the last fate is discarded, all players win the game!
  • Characters cannot attack each other. Instead, characters may freely exchange gold, Objects, and Followers when they encounter each other.
  • If 2 or more characters are on the same space, they may add their Strength value or Craft value together during battle and psychic combat.

Ell.

What a weird ending!

How is it possible to reach the crown of command if the game can end in several minutes…

With 2 players (draw 4 events and game will end..

This may not be the final version of the Lightbearers mind you!!!

Doomsayer

Doomsayers are very special servants of the gods. The Doomsayer is an
evil aligned class, meaning that he will always fumble on good prayers,
and does not qualify for good prayers. However, the Doomsayer can use
many dangerous edged weapons, any kind of armor, and gets numerous
special prayers that only the doomsayer can claim.

The Doomsayer is easily the most wicked, cruel, and
hated of all the Clerics. He is also the most social of the evil
clerics, being a clear rival to the Healer. He is best played as a loner
in cities, bringing the wrath of his God wherever he goes.

_______

Another thing what they say about the Doomsayer.

Someone who always says that bad things will happen

They are very concerned about the future, but they always predict the worst possible calamity and then spend their time preparing for doomsday.

They have no helmet and no real sword, but they have a morningstern.

Well, if that's a morningstar…

Try something that would be useful for flagellation…

…or eating your dinner with!

I know he carry a Morningstar Jon.

The problem is that FFG call the character a Doomsayer, while they are using a Pit Fighter miniature and artwork

My point is, that it is not a morningstar…

Yes very clearly it is NOT a Morning Star!

It can also be a flail.

It does not matter, because it has still the look of a Pit Fighter.

Only the artwork is wrong.

The abilities are good, because they have something to do with a Doomsayer.

Velhart!

Keep doing that very well planned Pit Fighter campaign, and maybe we will start calling a Doomsayer as Pit Fighter! gran_risa.gif

Hi Nemomon,

Which picture did you saw from the Doomsayer that you have compare with the Pit Fighter from games workshop

I really can''t find any pictures of a Doomsayer who looks the same as a pit fighter..

Did you find something like that?

Hello Velhart corazon.gif

I was comparing the picture of Pit Fighter You provided (even exactly that one from the front of the box) with a Doomsayer artwork of Blood Moon box.

Like a flagellant might use…

Doomsayer

I found finally a picture of a Doomsayer.

Maybe i can find more, and i hope that people realise what i mean.

The easy solution is to use a new miniature for the doomsayer who looks as a pit fighter

Will be interesting to play a very different game. I like the fact that it both include cooperation and that everyone need to think of everyone. Though there seem to lack information about what to do when a player dies.

Good vs Evil type ending in a bit the same manner would be fun too, half of the people are Evil characters, half Good.

I am also looking forward to playing with the hidden variant.

I found another Doomsayer artwork

But i prefer the other one that i have posted.

They all have dark clothes.

Yes, the Horrible Black Void is back!!

Hi Nemomon,

Ah oke.

I have upload 2 pictures how a Doomsayer looks like.

It's a dark version of the cleric.

They carry black clotches, and have a flail or morning star, or mace in their hand.

They also show up in some games.

Hey Nemomon, my good friend,

If we look to the abilities of this new character, it clearly tells us that it is Doomsayer.

So calling him a Pit fighter does not work, even if he looks like one. The Artwork is just a bad mistake and i don''t know which FFG did accept the artwork of this character.

This problem is easily fixed by using a Doomsayer picture, and put it in your character sleeve. Looking for a other miniature will help too.

It''s a heavy discussion here, but that makes things excited.

Peace for everyone…

It is??!!! Where? Hallelujah!

It is written in the Blood Moon Rules text:

Expansion Rules
When playing with The Blood Moon expansion, players
are required to use the new Time Card, Lycanthrope Cards,
Werewolf Card, and Werewolf figure. The new character cards,
character figures, and Horrible Black Void Alternate
Ending Card can be played either with this expansion or
independently. This rulesheet explains how to use the new
components to enhance your Talisman experience.

And the Alternative Ending Cards are also visible:

1. Blood Moon Werewolf

2. Lightbearers

3. Horrible Black Void

You and all your possessions are pulled into the Horrible Black Void, you lose the game!

After a character encounters the Horrible Black Void, remove it from the game. Then draw another Alternative Ending Card …

So great!

Give us more spoilers please!

All of these "spoilers" were taken from the hi-res rulebook that FFG put online. You get some interesting news like that sometimes, like the alternate art for Danse Macabre. :)

Well, the blurbs they use to promote this expansion, keeps mentioning vampires, but the only real spoilers of Vamps has been a Vampire Hunter character - who does sound pretty cool.

I would love to find out how many and what sort of vampires or situations will be in the new adventure cards.

Besides the Vampiress character, The Vampire Prince in the Dungeon, and the Vampire's Tower space in the Inner Region, there would seem to be a void to fill here.

I would like to see more vampire enemies, in general, but also maybe some event cards like "vampire outbreak" where they spread if you don't defeat them, somehow (move x spaces afterwards-kind-of-thing).

Since I like the idea of a vampire court, what about a revealed card or two that can "materialize" another Vamp Prince, Count, Queen, etc. in the City, Graveyard, "lost city" in the Highlands, etc.

Depending on who and how the Vampire Court is structured, other "event" cards could be like the Dragon Strike cards; If the Vampire Prince (or higher?) is a revealed card, all other revealed vampires have an extra point. Or… if the Vampire Queen faces opponent(s) of higher craft, she calls on the Craft of all other revealed Vampires and gets 1+ Craft for each.

A truly evil Event card could be the Midnight Carriage, it becomes Night and a deathly horse driven carriage spirits you and all followers to the Vampire Tower to suffer that space! (of course you'll probably want to retreat back down as soon as you can…)

Hello Velhart, my Dear Friend too! happy.gif

For me it will be a little hard to use custom picture for Doomsayer, considering my Talisman Art Database, or generally how I am reporting about new artwork. I think after a few games You will habit to its appearance ;)

Hi Nemomon,

Oke i understand your situation.

Anyway, i am planning to use a real Doom Sayer miniature and i am also gonna change the artwork

Somebody will paint it for me too.

The official miniature will be used as a Pit fighter, and also the artwork on the card.

It will be cool to use this miniature who can double the strength of weapons in battle:)

So i have 4 characters instead of 3:)
