Talisman: The Blood Moon Expansion

By Velhart, in Talisman

A little fact that I haven't seen mentioned is that you can use fate on the werewolf card if it lands on you. You can't use fate on the reaper card. This still makes the reaper more dangerous if he does in fact land on you.

Officially you can pay fate to reroll the die when the Reaper visits your character. However try these rules out:

ALTERNATIVE RULES

If players want to use any of the rules discussed here, they should make sure that everyone understands and agrees to the rules before the game begins.

MOVING THE REAPER

This alternative rule is for players who prefer more options for moving the Grim Reaper. In addition to the Reaper moving when a player rolls a "1" for his move, Death also moves when a player rolls a "1" at any stage during the game (battle, psychic combat, Spells, etc.). However the Reaper may only move once per turn. (If two players roll a "1" during battle with each other, the attacking player has the option of moving the Reaper first of all!) All other rules governing the Grim Reaper's movement remain in effect.

LANDING ON THE REAPER

Any character who lands on the Grim Reaper's space may choose to encounter the Reaper instead of encountering the space or another character in the space.

FATELESS REAPER

Whenever a player rolls one die and consults the chart on the Grim Reaper card, he may not pay a fate to reroll the die!

Regards,

Elliott.

New artwork from Felicia Cano:

1. Witch Finder

2. Werewolf Miniature Design

as well as previous artwork from her website.

Witch Finder is nice.gui%C3%B1o.gif

Werewolf is still amazing.

There's a distinct 'Universal Monsters' vibe going on here... and I like it. cool.gif

Agreed :) I love all of the 1930's and 40's monsters. On a side note, I wish AMC would actually run them during Halloween vs. the stuff they have been doing the past few years.

I might not have thought of this on my own, actually. I'm 56; I grew up watching those movies over and over. But now that I think about it, the vampires and werewolf were amongst what I liked most in the previous edition I played in the '80s. At any rate I have to agree on the artwork. The Mummy thing looks fantastic - I could see a whole expansion around that, with the desert themes and stuff.

That's why I queried a few weeks ago about the boards coming next; will they wrap all around the remaining spaces or be identical (dimensions) to the ones we have? If so, than it seems there would be a space on either long side, in the middle, not accounted for. I thought one should be a desert and one should be a swamp.

- Oberon

Nice! gran_risa.gif

I like the new idea's for example the Lunar effect.

It seems that most of the cards ( or maybe all of them) will have the day and Night effect.

The spell card Feral Hunger can be nasty if you play it on a opponent on the right moment. For example, when fighting the Lod, so that the character will not land on the COC. Making LOD 18 strength/ craft, so that the character need to reach strength 26 lengua.gif

It looks like that FFG has use some old artwork. I am not so very happy with this, but there is nothing to do about it.

Disciple of Darkness is from the dungeon, and Feral Hunger is actually a Yetti from the frostmarch...

You forgot Benedicion Spell lengua.gif

I like what we're seeing. I'll be even more interested in what they do with vampires and other undeads. Both graphics and mechanics. Since the day-night thing is in play how will that affect undead that really don't present during day?

-Oberon (it might be on their Adventure cards, how to treat day-night)

I did not see it in the first place.

They are very good spells.

Benediction artwork is from Sacred Poollengua.gif

I bought a new Blood Moon Werewolf for talisman lengua.gif

The Werewolf is terrorising the area gran_risa.gif

I think that i know what the character is with the morning star.

It's the Pit Fighter from Talisman Third Edition. gran_risa.gif

Pit Fighter gui%C3%B1o.gif

Strength 3/ Craft 3. lives 4

- Begins with Sword, Helmet, and armour at the start of the game

- He can double the bonus of weapons in battle. ( sword, axe etc)

_________

I think that FFG will change his abilities, but i hope he will become a interesting character.

Oh, good catch =)
Not so far from my "berserker"-guess. But pretty close to the already existing gladiator.

This is actually a lost file character.

The idea was to include him for talisman third edition, but in the end, he was not added to the game.

It's great to see him back into the game!

He is neutral and starts in the city aplauso.gif

So it seems that the characters on the box are:

- Pit Fighter

- Vampire Hunter

- Gravekeeper

The Vampire Hunter's first special ability is a cross between the Prophetess & Philosopher Special Abilities! **** huge gap at the end of the first line of text lol

Ell.

I like the Grave Robber gran_risa.gif

He has a very powerful ability!

Imagine that he can bring all those Pool of strength and wisdom back from the discard pile!

Vampire Hunter is also very powerful

She can discard all those useless adventure or other type cards unless it's a enemy to draw another card.

4/4 in battle and psychic combat

This character has the best balance with strength and craft, together with the Valkyrie!

Maybe the character with the shovel is a Graverobber instead of a Gravedigger.

You have guess it right gran_risa.gif

I wonder if the Vampire Hunter can also replace a card if she can't draw cards on a draw card space, because there is already a card on it's space.preocupado.gif

In other words, can the Vampire Hunter only use her investigate ability, if she has draw a card?

Sure, she can. She can use her ability after the encounter, when a card remains on her space. No matter if she was the one who drawn it, or went to the space with it.

I was thinking about this trick.

If she draw a card on a draw 1 card space, she can ditch a object, to replace that card, to draw another adventure card lengua.gif
