Pretty cool looking Kickstarter project

By blkdymnd, in Dust Tactics

Normally, I don't have much interest in Kickstarter projects, but this one seems to really cater to Dust that I might actually back it in some form.

As a disclaimer, I don't have anything to do with the project, just think its a really cool idea.

Possibly ;)

Well, great idea but they don't interlock horizontally. Probably a deal breaker for me, the cardboard tiles move around enough as it is

You could always tape them together from the bottom to keep them together then take apart later to reconfigure. Some painters tape would do the trick. Or base them on something like a large movement tray and paint accordingly. Just some thoughts.

It's good to see the conversation getting started here, I've been working on this project for months now, and I hoping for a successful Kickstarter.

To address the horizontal interlocking issue first check the FAQ on the Kickstarter page.

And keep this in mind: each blok is a hollow vacuum formed shape, with a plastic thickness of 1/32 of an inch, so strong magnets, small binder clips, even paperclips can be used to hold them together.

We did not focus on having the blokx interlock at this time because each separate blok style adds several days to our setup time, and we want to make sure everyone gets their rewards by December 2012, or sooner.

Also remember this is only the beginning, if the Kickstarter succeeds we will have many new blok styles in the future, but first we have to get started.

$30,000???

I'm not really sure how kickstarter works, but if I support them and they don't hit that amount, do I just lose my money?

Nope, your credit card is not even charged unless the goal is reached.

Awesome.

Still, not a snowcones chance in hell they get to $30k.
