Thoughts:Maesters again dominated the tournament, but not the final 4. I don’t think it’s because they aren’t the dominant build, but because there is now enough anti-maester toolboxing in the meta to compensate. In my meta at least, it wasn’t thought that Lannister would do as well because of the prevalence of Martell and Targ. The top Lanni player faced Nikki’s Bara, hoyalawya’s Martell masters, JackT’s Stark siege, and a mirror match with Jerrin, losing only in the mirror match. Much also came down to the randomness of the matchups. I myself lost from bad draw in one game where I never got a single maester except the one that got pulled with At the Gates and died to Valar, and in another very slow game timed out with one chain left and hand advantage.

Thoughts: There isn’t much to say about melee. Everyone came out to have fun and it was, but it was also very crazy. At the final table it remained very close throughout the game. I got pounded repeatedly for intrigue and got 3 great cards discarded by the end of turn 1. I tried to claw my way back in but unable to win military challenges consistently, I was effectively out. Ironically, I won 4 out of 5 dominance rounds. I think turn 6 both Rachel and Twn2dn could win. Rachel won initiative and went first for the win with Twn2dn at 9 power, Jerrin at 11, and me at 8.
