I've got another question. Does the Magus' indoctrination also work on 'bad' followers like the poltergeist, hag or false prophet? It seems especially unlikely to me that the poltergeist or hag would let themselves be indoctrinated.
indoctrination of poltergeist/hag/false prophet/etc.
Same question for mule/riding horse/etc. They are followercards but a mule adding one to your craft?

The magus indoctrination also work on negative followers.
Negative followers must be used in the same way as normal followers except that you may not ditch them.
The magus ability also work on mules and riding horse. It are still followers.
vampire can bleed poltergaist and others bad minions?
we usually play in another way:
the only way to become free against a bad minion it's the it's special rules:
for poltergaist u need crossing the river, teleport inclusing, and so on.
vampire can't bleed it, but magus and pitfigter use that minion for it's special rules.
poltergaist work in borh way:
u must move 1 for turn baut if u'r a magus u gain 1 more point for ur craft in figt

Yes.
The Vampire can drain(discard) the poltergeist and the Hag or other bad followers to gain a life.
in the card of the poltergaist it's wrote:
the only way which u can discard this minion is......
i translate from italian, i'v got the italian game.
if the only way is that, other ways are impossible.
even sorry for my bad english
Negative Followers
Negative Followers such as the Hag, Poltergeist or Jester MAY NOT be voluntarily ditched (placed faceup on a characters space).
However they may be lost by any other means! Chasm, Vampiress, etc. This is confirmed in the newest FAQ. Please read it guys!!!
Regards,
Ell.
i read the faq, latest version, but i don't find anithing about this situation.
pls help me in this search.

Followers That You Must Take
Some Followers (such as the Poltergeist and Hag) state that
they must be taken. All of the rules regarding Followers
apply to these cards as well, except a character must take
the Followers if he encounters them and cannot choose to
ditch them (see “Ditching Followers and Objects” on page 16
in the main game’s rulebook). However, there are other ways
for characters to get rid of these pesky companions, such as
visiting the Chasm in the Middle Region.
So I suppose this means that the Vampiress is pretty much invincible to negative followers. In fact, they're kind of like healing potions, minus the save a follower part.
This really helped, guys.
Bonus Anecdote: I once went to the chasm with a Hag to try and get rid of it. I also had an Herbalist and 3 lives. I rolled for myself, I lost a life. I rolled for the Herbalist, she's dead. I roll for the Hag, she's fine, of course!
I was a bit angry with that result.

True
But all those followers are still running away if they see the hag.
The vampires can do nothing about it.
The hag is too ugly and she stinks.
But that does not matter, because she is still tasty for the the vampiress

Sounds strange having both the herbalist and the hag....

Yes very lol Hag = No other Followers!
Ell.
Oh, wait, I meant the Poltergeist. Ha! My mistake.

Ah... but Poltergeist is a follower, so you should have discarded it as well as any "good" follower you might have had when the hag decided to join you.
But anyhow, I see your point but I guess that's one of those thing that follows Murphy's law; rolling a 1 whenever there's a chance of turning into a toad or when drinking a potion, rolling a 6 in the vampire tower, always loosing while diceing with death ( I think that's the space most character's have been killed in my gaming group) and trying to get rid of bad followers in the chasm-

No, I never got a Hag, just the Poltergeist. I got them confused.
Allright, now I see. You had me confused as well. Thought you meant hag and poltergeist, not poltergeist and herbalist...
Still, for some reason, the odds are never 50/50 to make the die roll.
