I forget how this works.

I am playing Beric Dondarrion with 2 other characters. (Beric's text: No power on house....cannot be killed or discarded)
I lose a military challenge as a defender

Can I select Beric to satisfy the claim? Or do I have to kill an eligible character?

I know I could use him to ignore the effects of Deadly if he is the only defending character.

"Cannot" means "don't even try". So you will have to choose a character that *can* be killed to be killed.

If you have to choose a character to kill, you have to choose one who can be killed.
