Hi there, I've been trying to play in an online game since early November and each one has had the GM disappear before we could really get going.
About me:
I am a very experienced role player in multiple formats, including Live Action Role Play (LARP), Play by Post (Pbp), Pen and Paper (Pnp) and as a GM. I've been role playing in some form since the mid '90s. I currently run a Rogue Trader game for family members and some friends on Irregular Saturdays. I am an active presence online, and am almost always available for a chat, and quite enjoy talking OOC with the other players and GM outside of Game Time. I also try to be fair in whatever game I play, helping the game be a smooth as possible through rules lookups, voicing an opinion when asked about a GM call, or even suggesting a clarification should a rule be obscure. I tend to be a bit of a minmaxer, along with a thematically driven character, so within the theme my characters take on, they tend to be quite effective.
What I'm looking for:
A regular game (not on Friday evenings, or Saturdays, unless those Sats don't interfere with my local game) with active people and an engaging story. Primarily I'm hoping for a BC game, but I'd settle for RT or even DW. I'm not really interested in DH, as that's the only system I haven't read through. My free time at current is quite open, but I'd prefer an Evening game US time (6-8 EST would be ideal, as would Wednesdays) but for the moment that's quite flexible. I'd prefer the start of a campaign, but I wouldn't mind joining a current game provided exp is the same as everyone else (Infamy could be a bit less). I'm not a fan of different powerlevels among PCs, nor of detrimental PC infighting. If there are minor spats, that's perfectly in character, but if the game is pure PVP or a set up, I'm not interested.
I have a specific character in mind, so if you don't have room for a Sorceror don't consider me. It's the character that drives the role player, so I honestly am not interested in changing it up right now. I'd also prefer to talk to people, over Skype or some other VOIP program. If you've got text dumps prepared, fine, and I have no problem typing or reading, but speaking is preferred.
The game also has to be rock solid. We don't have to meet every week, but everyone should know when the next meeting is, and be able to either show up or say that they are not going to be there. Communication is key, and vague promises with no follow up are not welcome. The GM has to be the most reliable person in the group as well, since the GM is the core of any role playing group. Preferably being available between sessions, but most certainly being active right before and/or after sessions for comments and questions.
As far as extra tools go for the game, I haven't used too many, but am not opposed to learning a new piece of software.
How to contact me and what to expect:
Here on the FFG forums is fine. You can email me if you can find it (I think it's listed in my profile) or a PM works just as well. If you were in one of the other games I was trying to get into and have an alternate contact method, go ahead and use that too.
You can expect me to ask questions, such as "What's the current level of the campaign? What's the ultimate goal? Do you have a end point in mind, or are you winging it? How much are player goals going to be taken into account?" and that sort of thing. My goal with the questions is to make sure I'll be enjoying the game and to try and help make it more enjoyable for everyone involved.
That was a pretty decent wall of text, so if you made it through all of it, feel free to consider me for your game. If you skipped to the end, don't. Effort should be met with effort.
Thank you for reading.
