Question about save.

By Strossus, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi guys!

I started GoT a short time ago and I've got a question.

If an opponent plays Sun Stroke to one of my characters and its effect triggers, can i save the with e.g. Maester Wendamyr or isn't it possible because the effect of sun stroke lasts until the end of the phase?

Thanks for help.

I'm going off memory here but I believe Sun Stroke says directly on it that "Attached character cannot be saved.". Failing that though you are correct. Even it if didn't say Cannot be Saved, Wendy would not save that char from that effect since it is terminal and Wendy's save does not increase STR. If the char had exactly 4STR thoguh something like Risen From The Sea would work to save them because it saves then gives +1 STR.

Ok thank you.

And another point, can i save more than one Character with wendamyr if I stand him when valar morghulis is revealed?

Yes, so long as the first character you save is himself. Since kneeling is part of the cost of his save ability, if you choose himself as the first save, then stand him with the influence annex of his ability, you can then kneel him again to pay for a second save. However if you do not save him first, using the two influence will stand the saved character, not wendy, and he will be kneeling, and thus not able to re-kneel to pay for the second save.

I always forget that Wendymyr has the option to stand another character after he saves them. I need to keep that in mind when attacking Greyjoy with that jerk store out.

Run PotS Brienne, preferably with Fury of the Wolf as your first plot. There's nothing like killing a duped Wendamyr with 2 ready influences and telling your opponent "don't even think about it" when he starts to kneel him.
