Dust Tactics - abnormally long wait for new packs here in the UK???

By bulldoguk, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

Anyone else think it seems strange we haven't seen any Dust releases over here in the UK from Cerberus onwards? ANY Fantasy flight game comes to think of it?

Just seems a little weird to me as in the past I have usually been able to purchase a week after they have been announced on the FF news page

Maybe I am just being impatient!

The rest of Europe has Cerebus, where ours ? :(

I order all my boxed stuff from Maelstrom (free international shipping) and they're no exception to this. Only just received partial amounts of my pre-orders for the Axis light and heavy walkers so expecting a similar delay for the rest of the order to fill. Thinking of cancelling at least the Warfare book and sourcing it elsewhere.

The Dust Warfare book has not been released, so no point in cancelling that just yet. Saying that though I am finding that Maelstrom orders and pre-orders arrive a couple of weeks after everybody else has had them. So I now routinely cancell orders when available elsewhere, I have asked why they don't get them on several occasions but have never had a reply.

I get all my stuff from Maelstrom, but having said that, I have only ever pre-ordered the Warhammer: Invasion expansion packs from FFG. They blame their delays on un-expected demand levels. It doesn't make business sense to keep large stocks of everything, just the stuff that flies off the shelf so when they get more orders than they have stock, they have to prioritise the orders they have and order more stock from FFG which takes time apparently. Having said that, they should have some idea of the demand for pre-orders?

If it makes you feel better, where I am from we just got Cyclone and Seelowe last January 2012.

Agreed but if you pre-order something you expect to get it the same time as everybody else.

I would expect it to arrive even earlier ;)

Pre-orders ship with the normal shipments normally, while some companies offer special pre-release orders that would go out earlier.

Shipments to and from Europe have been more odd lately, as I've had and heard of the same complaint with a few other companies that only produce on one side of the Atlantic or the other.

We had some late Christmas presents because orders to GB that normally take less than two weeks took four & a half.

I said that it the last sentence ;0)

I'm struggling to find anyone other than Maelstrom that sells Dust Tactics stuff at that price. Maybe it's the price we pay for the discount, who knows. After reading this thread I checked up on the order that I placed a couple of days ago and it's still showing as processing, and I've just realised that a large number of the things are showing as 'Out of stock at the supplier' when the FFG online store clearly shows them as being in stock. It is peculiar.

Last order I placed through Maelstrom was early January and its also in "processing" limbo. Fwiw all the items were displayed as being available at that time so who knows what happening (not only DT stuff). The un-filled pre-orders for the Axis Light and Heavy boxes is something thats dragged on forever though (when were they originally listed?) and I'm hoping the same situation doesn't occur when DW is released. Somewhat annoying that they continually keep advertising limited time discounts when obviously they arent able to keep up with demmand.

Started looking at US ebay sellers of late and by comparrison theres not much difference. Have been able to source a limited range of sets and seperate units from the 2nd Core at a decent shipping inclusive price. Biggest plus is you know they have the stock on hand and its here within two weeks.

I also order Dust stuff from IGUK.co.uk and The Book Depository (I know it makes no sense but they're cheep) and neither are showing Cerberus as in stock yet.

Also check the weekly releases from Esdevium who are the (a?) UK importer for FFG.

Back to waiting *drums fingers on table*.

Looks like the Book Depositry has the wrong price, I see this all the time. Last time was with GW's new LOTR books a couple of weeks ago. White Dwarf had prices of £12 and their website £15.

My stuff has been 'processing' at Maelstrom for over a week now. Getting that sinking feeling. They used to split orders up and post the rest as and when they came in stock didn't they?

I spoke with Maelstrom last week regarding my Jan order (still in Processing) and the zombies were holding the order up. They split the order for me and dispatched the BBQ squad.

If you look around the website a lot of their items seem to be order in. So personally id swith to either IGUK, Book depository (got all my walkers from there, saved a fortune) or Wayland games. However i've yet to get a lower price copy of Cerberus (my local gaming store has had it on the shelf but part of me doesnt want to pay the price if i can get it cheaper online inc postage)

Hopefully there will be some suppliers at Cavalier end of the month or Salute in April.

I wish there was somewhere around here that I could just pick some up off the shelf, not matter how much more it costs. I went into my local FLGS and they don't stock it. My nearest stockists that I know of are Maelstrom anyway and that is an hour drive away :0/

IGUK is showing stock of the NCO squads but still no Op Cerberus :(

It appears there is a fair few Dust players in the UK. I'm sure we can arrange to have a tournament somewhere.

I'll start a topic in organised play so we can work out how far people are willing to travel and their location to come up with a city/region that most people will be happy with.

And the topic is here: www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp

And I agree the wait for Dust Tactics product in the UK is getting out of hand.
