I assume you are speaking of attaching The Blood of the Dragon to her.
The Blood of the Dragon's text is:
While participating in a challenge, attached character gets +6 STR and gains the Dragon trait.
In order for her to participate in the challenge, she will need to kneel to attack. She won't have the Dragon trait until she starts participating in that challenge, so she has to kneel to attack.
As Bomb says, it's a timing issue. Essentially, you are trying to apply the attachment's "while participating" effect before the character is actually participating in the challenge. You cannot anticipate gaining the trait, giving the character the benefits of having the trait earlier than they deserve.
It is like opening your parachute before jumping out of the plane.
