Korknadel,

I think the obvious reason is: Instead of Ogres, there could have been something else they *did* like, no? :)

to be honest I dont think WFRP needs more player races ... - in reality I would have been fine with having had PCs limited to Humans and Dwarves with everyone else being funny / interesting / scary / alien NPCs to come across ... what I like about warhammer is the richness and depth of the human culture, where as many other systems despite stating that IT IS a human world ... tend to have a ton of stuff and options for other races and then in the end ... Oh and then there are humans, you should know how to play them ....

Fun little update for you guys!

I have been asked several questions since releasing this episode asking for more clarification on parts of the supplement.

There was an additional feature in Hero's Call which we forgot to mention which involves action cards. There are a new type of action cards introduced which are 'one use only' cards. You aquire them, use them, and discard them. If you want to use it again, you'll need to reaquire it through spending experience.

This seems like an awully interesting mechanic, especially for high level characters who are running out of things to spend XP on.

Ahh that's a clever way to make some action cards a bit too powerful to be used every combat.

Are the one time usage actions akin to plot-cards ...flexible in usage or more like just super attacks?

Could u give any examples of the cards ... if you got that info ?

btw thanks a lot for the review it was very nice cool.gif

Another question:

Is there rank 4 and 5 spells for the Chaos Cults?

On RDP's FB page it is pointed out that there will be just one of those action cards in the box.

That could mean that just one character at a time can own it. If this is true I am also curious about the nature of the card. A single card would have to suit all the careers, one should think.

UPDATE:

I was also able to learn that there are a handful of new wound cards. No Severe Wounds, however they were described as some "pretty nasty ones". I believe there are 6.

I'd like to know more about Ogres in the Old World... I know they can be mercenaries in the empire's armies, some times even in their bloodbowl team, but ogres also have their own army (warhammer battle) and bloodbowl team :)

Can anyone shed some light on three new priest careers included in the supplement? One of my players is keen to start playing a priest and he wonders how they vary (talent slots, main characteristics, ect.) from standard priests.

Unfortunately I won't be able to buy my own copy of Heroes Call here in Poland until march/april ;(

Cheers!

So how exactly is it again that this person was able to buy it and we're all still waiting with no end in sight. I would think some people at FFG are not to happy about this. I enjoyed the preview but really I just want to buy it for myself.

I know it's a strange question, but what's the game effects of the lava Location Card?

I believe that FFG was able to sell several copies earlier, because my retailer have already sold few copies of Heroes Call that he managed to got. Unluckily I missed the chance of buying one.

We talked about how he obtained the copy early in the episode.

Is FFG happy about it? I'd guess no, but we have yet to see any interaction from them on the boards in some time, so it's hard to tell if they even are aware of it.

Honestly im a little shocked more people arent talking about it on the boards.

Gitzman

Well i got my copy here in Denmark yesterday! Mayby it is a scandinavian thing? You guys covered must in your fine Podcast!

The lavaflow location card is basicly: Don't roll to many Chaos Stars or you may fall and die!

Maybe that's because the episode got all things covered. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Im surprised at the great variance in release locations/times. Many European locations are seeing the supplement early, well before FFG plans to release it. They had indicated there would still be a Press Release about the two new races preceeding the release of the supplement. So if that is still happeneing we are at least several weeks away from seeing it on our store shelves.

On the RD podcast, Marcus said that a retailer paid to have it directly shipped. Maybe it was a distributer who did that rather than a retailer. That may explain why different stores have it (though it looks like it's limited to Northern Europe thus far).

Yep, I checked every German online seller I know and no luck so far. It seems to be a Scandinavian phenomenon. llorando.gif

hey gitz,

how do the new races / regional variants work with regard to random generation of characters.

the core rule book details rolling fortune dice, the results of which lean toward reiklanders being common, dwarfs less so, and elves even rarer.

Great questions you guys, we are recording Episode 27 tonight, i'll try and answer, or at the least dicsuss as many as we can =)
