Searching for a monster cup

By OrbitalFracture, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hi guys,

I'm in the market for a monster cup and was wondering what size I should be looking for to fit all the monsters from all the expansions. I don't have them all yet so I can't check myself, but I want to be somewhat future-proofed. The problem is, most bags I find online that seem appropriate list their sizes as something like "holds 150 dice," and I can't estimate that well enough. I think my favorite option is the tentacle bag from FFG's store, but my concern is that it would be too small. Has anyone tried it out? It measures 6.25" x 9".

I've seen lots of other options, notably some nice looking bags on Etsy, but if this one will hold everything then it's got my vote. If anyone has any experience or educated guesses, please let me know. Thanks!

The dimensions of that bag are bigger than the ones you may have seen on Etsy, but does it have a FLAT BOTTOM, so that it can sit upright with every monster chit in every expansion and STILL have room to root around in?

That is EVERY monster chit available, including Masks and Spawns. (Note the Child of Abhoth.) OODLES of room.

Heather, the creator of these fine bags, is a pleasure to work with, and will customize your bag with whatever you want. Interior fabric, exterior fabric, vinyl or felt symbol on the front...whatever you want!

After a couple of years, I wanted a change. Here's my second Monster Cup:

They're a tad pricier, but so worth it!

Personally, I've only ever used the box lid. And now...well, now, I implement the decidedly insane method of lining up all of the tokens in rows and rolling dice to determine which to take whenever I have to draw a monster. It works better than you'd expect, although I'm not sure I'd entirely recommend it. You can't fault it for lack of proper "mixing", though....

You actually bring up a good point that I hadn't thought about, standing the bag upright. You're not the first person to mention the Marsbarn bags, but you finally convinced me to take the plunge! I've been using the box lid, but I'm looking for something that will give me a more permanent storage solution and look nice thematically too. Thanks for the help :)

Better yet, let's get them to add it to the app (it would be infinitely more useful than the dice roller) and permanently put the monster tokens into the base of the miniatures...when additional monsters would go to the outskirts you could just use counters rather than needing to pull them.

Stalin: Remember, monsters in the Outskirts return to the cup when you close a gate with the same dimensional symbol, so you would still have to pull them. I do like your idea, though (not that I have anything on which I might get said app...).

I got the tentacle bag...I don't have all the expansions, but unless they REALLY have a tonne of monsters, I can't imagine that there'll be a problem.
