Sunspear Tourney Grounds - just to make sure what can be cancelled

By Miklos, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Response: If you have lost a challenge this phase, kneel Sunspear Tourney Grounds to cancel a triggered character ability. (A character ability or the effects of an event triggered instead if you control more unique characters than each opponent.)

If I have more unique characters in play than each opponent, then I can cancel a triggered event or a triggered character ability, right?

Because first I was wondering if in this case I could cancel a character ability (no matter if it is triggered or passive) or an effect of an event triggered.

I think part of his questions was asking if he had a choice between cancelling an event or a character ability (second question : triggered or not?) in the situation where he has more Unique characters.

English speakers will confirm but as I read it you have the choice when you have more Unique characters.

Sorry, the only question I see there is whether the "more uniques" situation lets you cancel passive character abilities or just triggered character abilities. I'm not sure what other interpretation there could be on the option of (some type of) character ability or an event to cancel. If the text doesn't mean you can choose to cancel either one or the other when you trigger the Response, assuming you have more uniques, what else could it mean?

My question was exactly what Ktom referred to. If I have more Unique, can I cancel passive character ability too.

(unfortunately) Ktom confirmed the one I suspected; only triggered character abilities and events can be cancelled.

Thanks.
