With the impending release of the SSU faction I just had to get crackin on my Fury of Ivan. So here's a little step-by-step How2 on how I painted this model up.
Paints and materials used:
Citadel Paints: Knarloc Green, Devlan Mud wash, Sunburst Yellow, Gloss Varnish, Mecharite Red, Blood Red, Bestial brown, Blazeing Orange, Chaos Black, Bleached Bone, Badab Black wash, Boltgun, Dwarf Broanze, Tin Bitz, Graveyard Earth, chaos black spray primer.
Vallejo Paint: German Grey-995
Other stuff: Vallejo pigment Brown Oxide, Isopropyl Rubbing Achohol and Testor's Dullcote, War Paint's British Armor.
#1 Primer the model with Chaos Black Spray primer. When dry spray several thin even coats of War Paint British Armor. Be sure to let each coat of paint dry completely between coats or you could gum up the details.
#2 When the primer is dry, apply an even coat of Knarloc Green. Spray it on if you have the means to do so.
#3 When thats dry, wash the entire model with Devlan mud.
#4 Once the Ink is completely dry, dry brush the model with Knarloc Green. Be sure to leave the recessed areas shaded with the brown ink.
#5 Mix Knarloc green and Sunburst Yellow in a (roughly) 75/25 mix and drybrush all over. concentrate on the edges but dont neglect the centers of the large flat panels on the cockpit.
#6 Add a little more Sunburst to the mix and highlight the edges of the model.
#7 Time for decals. Paint a bit of Gloss Varnish onto the areas that are to receive the decal, this will help eliminate any 'silvering' of the decal. I used Dust-Models.com's SSU decal sheet. Also, paint any areas that are going to be bare metal (piston arms, cables etc.) Chaos Black. The red stars on the ammo hoppers received a base of Mecharite red followed by Bleed red.
#8 For the fuel tanks, base coat them Bestial Brown and then stiple on Blazeing Orange.
#9 Next mix some blazeing orange with bleached bone (roughly 75/25) and stipple that on. Then wash the tanks with Devlan Mud.
#10 Chipping. To do the chipping get some packing foam or a sponge brush and shape it into a wedge. Dip it into some German Grey and stipple it onto the edges of the model and any other areas you think would get worn.

#12 The areas that are to be painted as bare metal get a coat of Boltgun followed by Badab Black Ink. I also paint a little Boltgun into the centers of the larger chipped areas to show wear down to the metal. Some of the chipping along the edges of the model also get some boltgun.
#13 Black ink.
#14 Dry brush the muzzles of the guns and any ports and exhausts(except the ones on the ammo hoppers) that need it.
#15 Stipple some Boltgun onto the fuel drums and paint the retaining straps the same way you did the rest of the bare metal.
#16 To give the exhausts a scortched metal look paint about 3/4 of them with Dwarf Bronze. Paint over about 3/4 of the Dwarf Bronze with Tin Bitz and then paint over 1/2 the Tin Bitz with Chaos Black.
#17 The tricky bit. Mix some Vallejo Brown Oxide with some rubbing Alcohol until you get a nice little wash. Brush this mix into the reccesses of the model in areas you think would collect dirt or where you think it needs it.
#18 Here's a pic with the flash on, shows a bit better where the mix ended up.
#19 And another look.
#20 Drybrush Graveyard Earth around the lower 1/3's of the armor panels and legs and around the feet for a dusty bit of weathering. Seal the whole thing uo with Testor's Dullcote and you're good to go.
