New Dragons in the Future?

By Bomb, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Does anyone think that this could be a possibility with the number of dragons from the past?

I would enjoy some fresh options outside of Hatchlings, Rhaegal, Drogon, Viserion, and Balerion. If non-unique dragons existed, it would create brutality with some of the Queen of the Dragons abilities that depend on the number of dragons participating in challenges. I'm interested in expanding on the dragon trait theme.

I'll see if I can track down a source for this, but I seem to recall that when this subject came up a month or two ago, someone was prepared with a quote from FFG that essentially shot down the idea. They don't want to use pre-book characters too much, and they don't want to just make up dragons.

Personally, I'd love to see more. I quite enjoy the trait, and a Dragon weenie would be pretty cool I think. We know that the last generation of dragons (prior to Dany's dragons) were pretty runty guys, something like the size of a dog.

as an aside- are All Dany's Dragons male? or do dragons not have gender in the same way as people? I can only ever recall them being referred to as "he"

just wondering what the likelihood is of there being more dragons in the book - slim to none if the dragons are all male, and only the females can lay eggs...

If I remember correctly, Maester Aemon revealed that Dragons don't really have gender, but are both Male and Female.

They can change their sex at will "like the flickering of a candle" if Im not mistaken! So theyre... Optional Hemaphrodites?

Dunno what a new Drogon would look like but Sniper Drogon will take some beating.
