Looking for players in Sheffield, UK

By player1041350, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

I'm a relapsed card game player, I used to play Magic every day until about 10 years ago, and have bought and got really into Game of Thrones LCG. Just wondering if there are any players in the area who have a gaming night or group available. I know about the Patriot Games 1st Saturday of the month sessions, but I'm looking to play a bit more than that.

I don't know how far you are willing to travel but there is a very active community at GTG Games & Hobbies in Stoke on Trent which isn't too far away. We run 1 - 2 events a month for the game and casual play can be found every single Wednesday and Sunday and occasionally on Fridays and Saturdays.

again, bit of a way to travel, but there's a gaming night in Nottingham on Tuesdays that I've taken AGoT a few times. I wouldn't say there's a regular crowd, but if I'm around, I'm always happy to take it.

The tournaments in Stoke are pretty good too- never been to the casual play sessions.

Did you have any luck finding a Group in Sheffield? I am from Nottingham and am also looking for AGOT LCG group or club in the region that would help me learn the game.

If Mighty Jim has any information on the Nottingham club I would love to come along.

Hi,

I'm a memer of Sheffield Wargames Club and we meet at the Polish Club on Ecclesall Road every Wednesday evening. We play all sorts of games including card based games. I've just bought Call of Cthulhu but would be happy to have a bash at anything- though you may find you have to explain the rules as unto a small child. Call down anytime and introduce yourself- I will definitely be down on the 10th October but there are a number of others who play card games so you should find someone to give you a game.

Hi

Theres a regular playgroup of at least a dozen in Sheffield. We meet every Wednesday for casual Play, and there's a tournament on the first Saturday of every month.

The place is patriot games on lady's bridge, situated in Sheffield city centre. The store caters for just about every card, board, and role playing game imaginable

Patriot is definitely the place to head to in that part of the world. The guys that come down to Stoke on Trent from there are great guys, great players.

Also note that we are running our 'Winter Is Coming' Event in November. We did this last year and it was a busy and well received event. The prizes were awesome and this years first prize is the Valeryan Steel Replica of NEEDLE. Complete with a signed letter of authenticity from George himself. We hope to see some of the Sheffield guys come down to to prise this from our hands.

We have a post on this forum regarding the event.
