Chaining up those pesky Ravens!

By dcdennis, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I am sure that I am not the first person to think of this combo but I couldn't find it anywhere in the horrible ffg forum search so I'm posting it again. I know that the Carrion Bird has been errata'd to only be able to affect PRINTED raven cards, however I could not find any such errata for the Black/White Raven attachments. So with that in mind, is there any reason that I cannot use the Copper Link to give my Tin link the raven trait to circumvent the Black/White Raven's immunity, then, using the newly raven -ized Tin Link, discard the Black/White Raven from play?

Card text below for reference.

White Raven
Raven, Creature Immune to non-raven cards. Attach White Raven to your House card and discard all other Raven attachments from play. It is Winter. Each player takes 1 less gold token when he or she counts income.

Black Raven
Raven, Creature Immune to non-raven cards. Attach Black Raven to your House card and discard all other Raven attachments from play. It is Summer. Each player takes 1 additional gold token when he or she counts income.

Tin Link - Response: After attached character kneels, choose and discard 1 non-chain attachment from play.

Copper Link - Response: After attached character kneels, choose 1 card in play. Until the end of the phase, that card gains a trait of your choice.

In addition to that, is there any reason you can't give any other attachment in play a Raven trait, and then attach the Black or White Raven to your house card, thus discarding "all other Raven attachments from play"?

Welcome to the wonderful world of trait manipulation.

Eliminating specific interactions like the ones you found here was the entire reason Carrion Bird was changed to "printed Raven trait." The trait manipulation combo was too powerful and cheap for such strong character removal.

So I assume then that the combo I outlined above (and Bomb's), while perhaps against the spirit of the rules, is not illegal as of right now?

The whole reason cards like Old Nan and Copper Link exist are to MAKE thinks like this happen, or at least to make them possible.
