My armies are ready!

By SolennelBern, in Dust Tactics

Hey all! Yesterday evening I finished the 4 walkers from the original core set, which put an end to the painting marathon I was on since I got the game january 18th.

I'm really proud of myself, expecially completing the painting, which is a feat for me due to my lack of patience in such things :P

So, here they are!

[ALLIES MEDIUM ASSAULT WALKERS: HOT-DOG AND POUNDER]
When I received my original core set, I was missing the Pounder cannon...so I guess his gonna be a Mickey for the time being.

Hope you enjoy them as I do and thanks a bunch for all the nice comments and tips in my previous posts, I appreciate it a lot!

You've got two great looking armies there. Congrats on finishing them in 2 weeks.

I wish I had the core set. Where did you get it from? And how much?

Got it from JJ Cards (from Ontario) for under 100CAD shipped.

Dunno if they still have some in stock though.

That's a good deal! I'll check it out. Thanks

I got mine from snafugames.com for $80 bucks. Got it pretty quick, though i'm in the same state as them apparently.

Yeah it was! Got the game for 83CAD + 8CAD shipping + Canada GST!

Best deal that I got at that time.

I found mine in Poland about 2 monhts ago so if you are from the US you schould have no problem. Search in small local stores, also there was a post about 2 or 3 core sets in a shop somewhere in Chicago if you are willing to find it;)

Congratulations! You reache the finish line at the painting marathon. Or is it called a painting sprint if you do it in only 2 weeks? Next step Revised Core Set? gui%C3%B1o.gif
Looks like you do a realy good job, but the bases need a little love too.

I figured he just wasn't sure how he wanted to base them yet.

Yeah not sure about the bases yet and don't know if i'll touch them in the near future. Might just retouch where I accidently splashed some wash but dunno what i'll do with them.

I don't really like having, for instance, white/winter bases and playing on an indoor map...look weird to me, same with the other way around.

I'll check what others did and see from there.

Exactly my thought. I painted mine black for now

That's what I was thinking about. But the black boots on a black base...not really sure aqbout the result. Anyways, it's a really good idea when you don't know exactly what you want to do with those bases.

Could you post some images of your minis Psykostevo?

The shininess will go away when I finally Matte Varnish them. Plus I've already added red and white accents to the cloth since I took the pics.

And of course you can see my zombies in my How to thread.

I see not onlt my flamenwerfer sucks... They nedd to do sth with that weapon, it look's like ho would be watering his garden...

If you want a simple but good looking base do the following...

1. paint them gunmetal - optional you can accentuate with light silver

2. mix some dropps of water with a drop of black and wash the base. (after that it must dry)

3. dry brush some points with brown, so it looks like dirt or rust

4. paint the baseborder black

Thanks for the tips

Yeah. Are you kidding me?! I thought there was a piece missing. He looks so lame!

I'm going for a dirtier look on my allies. Lots of army green, khaki, and brown. Here are some models from a test unit I did tonight. I also did the allied walker, but not taken any pics yet.

I still need to figure out my bases and do more detail, like the goggles and chochkis.

Try Miniature Market for the core kits they may still have some for a good price.

Maybe I'll just put a flowerbed on his base a an inside joke.

Then try The War Store, Cool Stuff Inc, CGG Armory or FRP Games.
