Hello Gaming Community,

I am the new marketing intern here at Fantasy Flight Games and I am working on a Comprehensive FAQ project and I need help from you, the fans. If you have any questions about the game that you feel were not addressed in the most current of the FAQ for Talisman 4th edition, please post them here.

A FAQ already exists? It's not on the Talisman main page if so.

From alboy: Can you use the Gust of Wind Spell on a Character in the Inner region or on the Crown of Command Space?

Concealed Pouch:
Can items be moved in and out? If so, how often?
Are the pouch and/or contents affected by a Gust of Wind?
If I have the Golden Statue in a concealed pouch, is my victorious opponent unable to take anything from me in combat?

Genie:
Can a Genie cast spells when his controlling character has an amulet? During Destroy Magic? (Genie card says the Genie is casting, the two preventative measures prevent only characters from casting).
If I start the turn with a spell and draw the Genie, how many spells can I cast in that turn? On the following turn?

Crown of Command Space:
Does a character cast the Command Spell the turn after the valley of fire, or do they move to the crown after the valley, and then on the following turn cast the command spell?
Can a character leave the Crown space? (page 20 paragraph 4) or not? (paragraph 2)

Fiend Slayer:
If there is a card on a Draw One Card space, do I draw another when I land there with the Fiend Slayer?

Reflection:
Which spells, exactly, can be reflected? What effect does this have? Can I reflect an opponent's counterspell at that same counterspell, making the counterspell target itself?

Misdirection:
If cast on a character in the inner region, are they now "turning back?"

There are many more. These were scavenged from the forums, but I'll see if we have any other outstanding issues in our group.

In order to make an official FAQ, you should make this thread sticky.

There are many questions that can be addressed in the FAQ. The ideal solution would be a separate subsection of this forum, where each user may ask questions and FFG representatives give officials answer. One single question per post, no discussion allowed there.

From the results you can start developing a comprehensive FAQ. It worked really well for BI Talisman. Talisman is a game where official FAQ is really useful, at least to avoid arguments between players.

Searching this forum is good idea for a start - many problems have been discussed here. Separated subforum for the FAQ stuff will be helpful too.

lf a Character on the Crown of Command drops a Card on the Space can it be moved to another Space in the Inner Region by a Character casting the Displacement Spell.

Can you use the Trasference Spell on a Character in the Inner Region or the Crown of Command Space if you are in the Inner Region.

If the Prophetess has the Fiend Slayer as a follower when you land on a Draw 1 Card Space & there is already a card there am l right in thinking you would draw another Card as per the Fiend Slayer & if you did not like that Card the Prophetess could discard it & draw another Card.

Can you use the Gust of Wind Spell on a Character in the Inner region or on the Crown of Command Space.

Can the Destruction Spell be used on the Crown of Command if a Character drops an object.

On page 20 of the rules for the Crown of Command it states Characters on the space can not turn back. ( para 2).And (para 4) on page 20 it states even if the Character leaves the Crown of Command space. Are these 2 rules in conflict or are there other ways a Character can leave the Crown of Command space.

Scenario: a character with 3 point of craft has 1 spell in his hand. He gains another spell as result of an encounter
Manual: "All characters may acquire and cast Spells, if their Craft is sufficient to permit this"
Question: Does 1)he draws the spell, then choose one to discard or 2)he cannot draw the spell?

or

3) He may draw a spell but first he must discard (or use) the old one?

This needs to be sticked.

Can the Misdirection Spell be cast on a Character in the Inner Region to make them go back a Space & force them to retreat to the Plain of Peril.

Does the Dryad remain in a Space if the Character gets teleported to the Forest Space or is it discarded.

Perhaps the most common and important question that needs to be answered: Can fate be spent on the die roll for the Command Spell?

The uses for fate are listed, but I'm guessing the only reason the command spell's effect isn't spelled out in text on the board is for artistic reasons, which seems an unfortunate reason to make a ruling.

Can you use a horse and magic carpet, if so do you teleport if you roll a 6 on any die?

If the sage picks up the familar can he look at the top of the spell pile before he chooses to discard a spell?

If you lose a combat from a summon spell, can the victor take an object/ life from you, or is the summon just destroyed?

Came up last night:

If the Elf is holding the amulet and a talisman, and has defeated the Pit Fiends, then the next player casts Destroy Magic, does the Elf then have to turn back on his next turn? His talisman doesn't function... but the amulet should protect him from being "affected" by the Destroy Magic.

On page 18 of the Rule Book it shows the Sorceress casting the Immobility Spell on the Sentinel.

On the Immobility Spell card it says cast at the start of a Characters turn, before he moves.

Is this in conflict with the description shown on page 18 of the Rule Book. Also how do you cast this on a Character or Creature if you can only cast it at the start of your turn before you move?

I find the wording on the card misleading apart from if it can be cast before you roll the dice or not.

The wording Creature for instance, there are no Creatures in the game as such, they are mostly called Enemy. So is a Creature anything you Battle with, how about Spirits? Also if there are more than one Creature on a space can you use Immobility on all Creatures on the space or just choose one of them?

If a Character has the Event/Follower Cursed by Hag with them & then turned into a Toad for 3 turns does a Toad leave the Hag behind in the space or does it stay with the Toad?

If a Character has the Event/Follower Cursed by Hag with them & then turned into a Toad for 3 turns does a Toad leave the Hag behind in the space or does it stay with the Toad?

I don't know what sticked means, but if it means to create an ever-changing FAQ/errata list with a date (so we can keep up with changes), then I concur wholeheartedly.

wheres the faq?? I do not see one yet. gui%C3%B1o.gif

With the Riding Horse, if a character rolls a pair of ones for movement, do they move death twice? If they are the gnome or have the magic carpet, can they teleport twice? If a magic carpeted character gets a one and a six, can they teleport and then move death? How does/would this work?
