Basic struggle resolution questions.

By booored, in CoC Rules Discussion

So, I have a 2 basic questions about struggle resolution...

1) When you win a ARCANE struggle at a story with more than 1 character committed to the story, you can CHOOSE witch one of your characters untap, and that character itself dose not have to have a arcane icon?

2) Similar question about Terror struggle. The terror icon makes you immune to going insane.. So if you have 2 cards commited to a story and loose the terror struggle it dosn't matter when BOTH cards have a terror icon.

BUT

If you have 2 cards at the story and one of the dose not have a terror icon, you loose and have to send a card insane.. can you, if you want, send the card with the terror icon insane instead of the one with out the icon?

Same question is the card has willpower.

but if you loose a terror struggle and one of the many characters you have committed to the story dose NOT have a terror icon,

#1: Yes, any character at the story.

#2: You have to choose a non-Terror, non-Willpower character to go insane.

Agree with Dam. You have to choose a valid target. Otherwise, terror would be quite overpowered, wouldn't it?

ok... soooo.... If you loose a terror struggle, you can not select a card with a terror icon or willpower.. you HAVE to select a card with out those?

Is this all correct now?

I thought this might be the case.. but it seams a very similar game state to choosing a card to untap, even if it doesn't have a arcane icon... like why dose that work, and this not?

Both struggles tell you to "choose" a card to affect.

However, Willpower and Terror say that you cannot choose those cards to go insane. That is why you cannot choose those cards and must instead choose another - because this rule specifically disallows them as choices.

ic... cool thanks guys
