Reminder: No character, no locations in play

By BARF, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi all.

I thought I saw this question answered in the faq but I couldn't find it. So I will turn to this trusty community!

What happens when I have no characters or locations in play mid way through a game? Am I able to add 5 gold worth of stuff without charge or do I just have to deal with the severe butt kicking I will then face? Do I wait until the round finishes and then add 5 gold worth of stuff or do I just have to try and survive?

Just a reminder as to what happens here.

Thanks!

There are no special provisions or bonuses like this in aGoT. If your board gets completely wiped you get nothing but the smug grin on your opponent's face staring you down :P

Don't let that happen... or prepare for it to meet it with a full hand (and possibly cards in shadows).

Although it isn't impossible to come back from that. I've seen it happen.

I battled back from a Valar and an empty hand in a 3 player match the other day. As a matter of fact, I ONLY won because of the very late unneeded Valar (oppoenents last plot card, she was winning 13 to 6 before playing it and had a full field of characters compared to my 3), my empty hand for a trigger, a lucky draw, and my careful selection of a title card that would force support by one of my opponents.

If I had to pick one of my house decks that just seems to win by blind luck... I think I would have to pick Lannister.

I've seen people come back from this too, only it was from Red Viper and his apocalypse-like death. As long as you have a solid deck filled with usable characters, you can claw your way back.
