I have put together an expansion that includes all of the Mayfair alien powers that are compatible with the FFG, I also edited them so that they are all FFG-friendly. I call it "The Poor Man's Cosmic Expansion: Mayfair Edition" because it's not exactly bursting with images and color, in fact it's very plain, the only color I used was to identify the different types of cards, so it's nothing special, but was mainly put together for my gaming group to integrate into the FFG edition some more aliens to see who they'd fare -- but not kill me with printing costs. It's a home project that I originally didn't intend to share, but I thought maybe some others may be interested in taking a look (I also submitted it to BGG, but don't know if it will be accepted).
Primarily, I need to thank Eon/Mayfair for the original ideas (and anyone else involved), but also Jack Reda for The Warp website, which is where I was able to pull all the info needed regarding the aliens in this set. So, this set includes:
Encounter Deck (Same card manifest as FFG, but I wanted all the cards, flares, etc. to be identical. I made them a little bigger then the FFG cards so that they would fit into the 2.5/8 x 3.5/8 card sleeves, they are easy to find and many have opaque backs if you print on white card stock)
54 Mayfair Aliens (Very plain - just the name, brief description, and the details of the power. I had to change some of the wording such as putting in use / may use , and in a few cases I tweaked the power to make it more FFGish, there are no Lucre aliens either, although some made mention of it that I edited out)
54 Mayfair Alien Flares (Mostly used the Mayfair flares, but used a few of the Eon ideas as well, whatever seemed to fit better, with, the periodic tweak)
50 FFG Alien Flares (I included these so that we could also use the 50 that came with the game rather than playing with either / or, so this gives a total of 104 that can all be played with the FFG components)
If anyone is interested, I can send the PDF files (2 of them). Just email me at: [email protected] or put your contact info on the forum here and I'll get it over to you. Like I said, don't be expecting FFG quality, but if you want to see how some other aliens play it might work for you. Also, I'm always interested in feedback, especially for some of the changes that were necessary, so feel free to let me know your thoughts.
My next project will be to do a "Homebrew Edition", there are so many I'll have to pick and choose, but if you like this set and would be interested in some of the home brewed aliens, I wouldn't mind taking some requests.
Thanks,
Adam
