ah aha finally the void kraken xhen i wrotte about it more than a year ago on the forum some idiots wrote you means nids. ni i mean void kraken a classique of space sf.

"From the enigmatic Eldar to the ferocious Orks, alien races seek to halt Mankind’s rightful rule of the galaxy. Will you master these foul creatures and rule the void, or become another foolhardy Explorer lost to the Expanse?"

havent we seen that time and time again? in the core book, in into the storm and in some adventures? oh and in dh too.

"Fantasy Flight Games is excited to announce The Koronus Bestiary, an upcoming supplement for Rogue Trader! The Koronus Bestiary is a detailed compendium of deadly beasts, hostile xenos, unholy daemons, and other dangers that fill the uncharted regions of the Koronus Expanse."

sound to me like creatures and anathema of dh.

"In addition to its many adventure seeds and plot hooks, this comprehensive tome features art and descriptions for a range of foes, including Shadowkith, Thornmaws, Void Krakens, and a host of others. Looking for even more vile enemies? The Xenos Generator rules allow players to create alien species as varied and dangerous as they can imagine!"

hum sound like the gm kit for dh with it's allien and creatures generator. the rest can be interesting.

To know your foe
“Humanity may have settled untold worlds in the Koronus Expanse, but only the most audacious of Rogue Traders would dare claim that it asserts any true dominion over this lawless region of space. For every conquered planet there are dozens more under the control of vile aliens. Explorers operating in the Expanse are sure to encounter these threats in their journeys, either by accident or design, and must be ready lest their ship and their profits be lost
.”

And?

Each of The Koronus Bestiary’s chapters concentrates on one type of threat, ranging from savage monsters to predatory alien races to the terrors that lurk beyond reality. Chapter one examines some of the more dangerous beasts found across the Expanse, while chapter two covers the major sentient xenos races in this lawless region of space (such as the devious Stryxis, brutal Orks, treacherous Eldar, ferocious Rak’Gol, and much more). Next, chapter three presents a different sort of threat: foul warp spawn that not only destroy an Explorer’s body, but rend his very soul. Finally, Game Masters can use chapter four’s xenos generator to produce unique beasts, dangerous plant life and even primitive sentient races ripe for exploitation and indoctrination.”

So yeah it’s a creatures anathema for rogues trader that’s sure

"Innumerable terrors populate the uncharted planets of the Koronus Expanse. Will you be ready for them? Keep checking back for more information, and look for The Koronus Bestiary on store shelves in the first quarter of 2012."

Well until I can get it I will use creatures anathema and dh gm kit.

I wonder if ffg is running of idea. The are giving us time after time the same creatures. I want something new not something that someone who play two games of ffg has the feeling of buying two times the same book. I play dh and rt some dh and deathwatch are we tired of seeing again a bestiary with orks?

oh and no i am not a hater, i m juste a long time player of dh and rt i have the impression to buy the same book time after time and read the same thing time after time.

till it comes out it's impossible to judge.

Yah, their sales pitch sounds the same, but i reserve judgement till i actually have the book in my hands and read it back to front. I'm definitely hoping it'll not be another mark of the xenos from DW though. If it's a mix between disciples of the dark gods and creatures anathema i'll be very happy. (at least: if they don't rehash what's printed elsewhere indeed).

Man what?

Oh no the Koronus bestiary is going to have xenos, void monsters and daemons. How dare they give us what we want!?

I think its a good thing that something will come out with stuff gathered in one place so that I don't need to buy four or five books just to get the stuff that I want and only use a page or two from each book.

I'm a huge fan of the Rogue Trader game, but if there's one thing it's definitely lacking it's a monster manual. Creating monsters/enemies using the same rules as PCs (including Talents which are listed and need to be referenced individually) is the one thing I think is a mistake in the system. If they have the opportunity to provide more "baseline models" of the various threats and menaces that oppose the explorers, I am 100% in favor of it.

I gotta say owning about seven or eight of the various book lines from DH's Creatures Anathema to The Black Crusade core book, that while there is a fair bit of repetition concerning the FFG releases, each subsequent release does seem to me to add things to the game line over all. Which is another point. The FFG guys have been fine tuning an overall game system through the 4 core books and their various supplements. So i think Koronus beastiary will be a good release. And while it might have some repeats, especially in the way of base orks, it'll probably have lots of additional stuff. DH has focused on man-level threats such as monsters, heretics and the like. RT has Focused a fair bit on various xenos species and monsters from the expanse. DW has focused on Tyranids and Tau with a little helping of Chaos while BC will focus on imperial agents and daemons.

It's important to note that FFG has every Warhammer 40k RPG line as an independent game. A lot of people only purchase Rogue Trader books, so a RT Bestiary is very useful for them. Plus monsters are not the same over the books. For example, daemons in Mark of Xenos are a lot more stronger than the same daemons in DH Core or Creatures Anathema,

A good bestiary adapted for the Rogue Trader line is a grest idea, plus it will have some new rules and creatures not found in other lines.

Dont be so negative, the book isn't even out yet. Your literally judging it by it's cover (which is a pretty sweet one).

i have been harsh? yes i hva been quick to judge? yes but if i confess it i have reasons already explain. yes not all playuers play 2 or more game. but a lot of older player do and like they have the feeling to buy several time the same book.

also like some as said a bestiary book comon to all game should existe.

so should i appologize for have been harsh? yes and i do so but not for the feeling to buy time and time again the same book.

It is an unfortunate fact that the various campaign settings are only nominally compatible, which means that there will be quite some repetition between each manual, because each of them will have to restat new versions of the traditional WH40k threats.

This is not necessarily bad, either, but it is an entirely valid and understandable explanation.

I personally do not mind having a wide variety of examples within any given overarching threat to the Imperium. I do however hope and believe that the Rogue Trader bestiary will offer at least a few uncommon and seldom seen examples of xenos or demons, since much of the basis of the game is about being beyond the regular purview of the Imperium.

I would also like to see some rules and examples of actual Rogue Trader interaction with these cultures beyond "BLAST THEM!", which makes sense in this Campaign Setting but not the others.

I also want to emphasize that Fantasy Flight Games have yet to let me down in terms of content for the WH40k RP line. There are some things that are annoying, but in terms of sheer content, fluff, background, imagery or choice of said content, I continue to be blown away with each book published.
