Did something happen to AGOTcards?

By alpha5099, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I get a 404 when I try to go there, and I'm getting an error message in Italian that, at least according to Google, says:

"Suspended domain. The user has finished the resources at its disposal."

I will confirm this.

Opinion: An angry AGoT fan with Explorer is doing some sort of Anonymous/Occupy thing and went all ninja on the site. Or it could just be the Lannisters again...

Its down, but im not getting any italian message... just 404, and also the 404 document has 404'd...

@Andrea: If you need hosting with unlimited bandwith I can give you this for free on my server. I can help with site transfer etc. Unfortunately I will not keep my site there as I switched to ASP stack. But anyway you get some time to find another solution and I can wait couple of months as well if you need. Contact me here or at my email address berto[at]decktech.eu.

i just assumed that he took it down to deploy that whole new search feature he has been working on. i wouldn't worry too much.

I am in a state of panic! When will it be back omg.

Without notification? Now such actions does not require full downtime just few minutes. Anyway willing to help if needed.

When I just go to agotcards.org/dashboard, I get a pretty boilerplate 404 error. If I take out the /dashboard, that's where I see the Italian error message, which seems to be tied to a hosting service called Web4Web.it

Hi guys. The problem with the site is that, despite any prevision, we reached the end of our monthly resources. This means two things:

1) We will be back online the first day of feb.

2) We will migrate all the site to a new host service next month

3) I cannot start the migration NOW because I have to grab the database snapshot, and I cannot do it until the domain is back online, which means not before Wednesday.

I'm really sorry for this, and I promise this is the last time that we have to worry for this **** to happen. See you in a couple days.

Would a donation link help counter these kind of issues? I love the site and use it daily - I would gladly kick in some $$ if needed.

When the site comes back, there is a link on the main page to donate. Regular users should take the time and do this.

Hopefully we won't have bandwith problems anymore, but even 1$ is fine! We will migrate to another hosting service and the money will be used to pay it! I'll start migration process as soon as the server come back online, this means a couple days of down (until wednesday) and while we will use the february bandwith I'll start trasnferring the site data to the other host. Then, by migrating the DNS name, everything will be completed and users should not notice the difference ;)

All you need to know is here:

Well I'm more than happy to throw in $20 - I challenge everyone else to match mine at least!! lengua.gif

Server cost is one thing another to pay back something to Andrea for his brilliant development effort.

:P

However, I'm SOOO pissed off because ok I understand the bandwith limit and you won't let anybody use the site, but this thing that I cannot access the control panel /db panel etc is just driving me nuts!

Hey guys! Remember, in the meantime, you can always access Cardgamedb for all your search and deck building needs!

And, one I like: info.wsisiz.edu.pl/~szczesnj/index.php is pretty user friendly IMHO.

Actually, someone managed to donate 60 bucks :P but it's ok, seriously, even 1$ makes the difference. If every user donate 1$ we would have funds for a lifetime host!

well as it will never happen, donators should give more. 60 bucks, man, this user deserves the AGOT medal of honor!!

I will not be satisfied until some madman with a plunger takes both Andreas, Darksbane, Rogue30 and the Dblr dude and jams all of them into the same skull. Then we will have the perfect AGoT utility site.

im pretty sure the madman would need a different tool to accomplish that. now, if all four had clogged toilets that's a whole different story.

That's a good point Berto - so much is done behind the scenes that I don't think everyone often realizes the work that goes into making something happen.

Without Agotcards.org, the debates we have aren't translating to cardgamedb or these threads. I am actually getting work done today because of it.

any new updates on this? it was back up yesterday, but now down again :(
