Photo vs Preysense sights

By qcipher, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

Just curious, why would anyone take the simple Photo sight (which allows you to negate darkness penalties) and the Preysense which negates darkness and gives a +20 to awareness tests trying to find the target?

I thought maybe there was a difference in the cost/availability, but they're both considered Very Rare. I couldn't find anything in the errata, has anyone else noticed this? I admit it's kind of minor, but just curious. If the Photo sight was simply Scarce or something it might make some sense, it would basically be the 'poor man's Preysense', but since they cost the same it confuses me.

Narrative issues mainly; the Photosight boosting ambient light would probably allow you to notice "Danger! Flesh-eating-viral-atmosphere!!" signs posted around the door you were about to open, whereas the thermographic Preysense would leave you blissfully unaware as it wouldn't pick up flat objects without differing temperatures.
