Groups in London, UK

By Rompa, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

I'm very much new to the AGOT LCG but am looking for people to play games against in the London area, outside of my normal gaming group. I live in the Northfields area (on the western end of the Piccadilly Line) but work in central London so am pretty easy going re travelling.

I am aware of the Meetup group ( http://www.meetup.com/London-AGOT-LCG-Meetup-Group ), which I have recently joined and am looking forward to attending when it next meets. However, the group appears to be on a fixed monthly basis and am looking for players who play a bit more regularly.

If anyone is interested, or knows of any regular games in London outside of Meetup, let me know!

Hi, I'm one of the regulars at the Meetup group, and I get at least 2/3 jousts every monday against a regular opponent and my university gaming club (Which is open to outsiders.... kind of) . I also regularly attend the London on Board meetups (www.meetup.com/londononboard) - these are mostly dedicated to board games, but I'd be happy to give you a game (if I'm not already playing something else). I always bring my Game of Thrones cards, and there are other players (Michael and Seb in paritucalr) who havecards as well - I mostly attend the weekend meetups, and I'll be there on the 5th.

London isn't great for Thrones, or any other Card Game except for Magic, really. I blame the lack of a good LGS more than anything else - you don't really have a place you can just pop in to and find opponents - Orcsnest sells games, but doesn't have tables/gaming space.

Hi there,

Next meetup on the 19th. Hopefully we'll see you there.

I agree on the LGS thing... London just doesn't have a decent centrally located facility for casual drop-in games. Which makes it a bit of a pain to find players for anything that doesn't fit London On Board's model. The lack of a central shop also means that there's nowhere that you can really put up a poster or leave a stack of flyers.

The solution may well be for some kind of umberella group for card gamers, which would be open to people doing LCGs, LOT5Rings, Magic, etc; and would meet every couple of weeks. But lord knows how you'd go about arranging for that to work (a bit of a nightmare if four people turn up looking for four different games, all with just one deck).

Anyway, to cut this rambling post short: personally I'd be up for meeting more frequently for Thrones. We don't pay anything for the room we use at the St Chris, so I could easily book it more frequently if people let me know which dates they fancied.

Hey guys. Cheers for the replies. I just wanted to check that I wasn't missing out on anything!

Definitely plan to come along on the 19th and look forward to seeing you both then.
