I've been really tempted to paint up the building walls in Operation Cerberus but I'm lacking inspiration. I was thinking just some layering with a quick wash then some dry brushing of the bricks would get the job done.

As this is the painting technique forum, I imagine somebody on here must have given it a go.

I'm no expert painter but i'd do it exactly like you said.

If the basecoat is ok, i'd simply apply a wash everywhere and drybrush some highlights. Quick and simple.

But that depends if you want some color on it too, like the bricks and windows. That's up to you from there

But wash + drybrush would be the way to go for me.

Do these come ready primed? I didn't think they did (UK STILL waiting!) If not, then you will not be able to wash them until you do.

Get a HUGE drybrush. Like the one GW used to sell for terrain painting. You don't want to see the brush strokes on large terrain pieces.

Color wise for brick and rocks I start with a Shadow Grey basecoat, then get dryer and dryer in my layers as I move through mixes of Codex through Fortress.

i would prime them as they are just the smooth plastic type finish like all model kits. maybe even use a textured paint in some areas to give it some surface texture then apply your base color over that before washing and highlighting.

OT I guess but how high are the floors in the Op Cerberus building (from one floor to the next)? I was thinking or scratch building some..er...buildings and would like to keep them consistent with the Cerberus one but its still not out in the UK .
