Satin, Nights Watch

By Testacleas, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

When using Satin's ability to reveal the top card of each players deck, if you choose to draw the card what happens to a player card who already draw capped?

Let's say an opponent, who has already drawn 2 cards for the round, plays something like Sword in the Darkness that allows them to draw 2 cards. What happens to the second card the event lets them draw, but the draw cap prohibits? It is simply never drawn, right? You get to 3 when you draw the first card and just stop.

It's no different with Satin. Everyone draws their card. Anyone already at cap just stops. The card is simply never drawn. (And when Satin's effect resolves, it stops being revealed, too. Just like the card you draw stops being revealed when Satin's effect resolves.)

Out of curiosity, what else are you thinking might happen to it?

So if I choose "Each player draws that card." and one or more players are capped, they simply put the card back on top of the deck?

I mean, I do not know what would have been the default action either since putting the card back on top of the deck is one of the options. I guess that would be the most reasonable default action for capped players.

Well, the card never stops being the top card of your deck while it is revealed. The 3rd option on Satin is more about ending the "revealed" state and making it clear that "do nothing" is a viable choice. It's not really the "default" of the three options.

This one isn't so much about reason as it is what happens when you are not allowed to draw a card. The top card of your deck stays where it is.

I wasn't sure what exactly it would do. Just wanted to ask before it became a problem in my play group. Thanks.
