Galbart and Maester Tower

If you alter a search with Glover to search discard, can you copy it with Maester Tower? Or is that a nono since the original search was not a discard search?

Maester's Tower reads: "Response: Kneel a character to copy a triggered effect that returns a character from your discard or dead pile to your hand, deck, shadows area, or play." So you need 2 things before you can copy the effect; 1) the original must be triggered, and 2) it must et a character out of your discard pile.

Glover is essentially a replacement effect, making it so that a "search your deck" effect resolves as "search your discard pile." It isn't a triggered effect, so the Tower could never copy it, even though it could end up creating the "out of discard pile" situation. On the other hand, remember that when an effect is replaced, you Respond to the original effect (usually, there are a few exceptions). For example, think of Darkstar and his "would be discarded from your hand, put him into play instead;" you Respond to the card being discarded from hand, right? Same thing here - despite being replaced with "from discard pile" by Glover, you'd Respond to "from deck." So the Tower can't copy the original, either.

Bottom line: the two separate effects (Glover and the search effect) do not combine into the one acceptable trigger the Tower would need.
