Before Combat Question

By Evan97, in Runebound

My question is with the "Tests" during the Before Combat phase.

Let's say my hero is Ronan of the Wild who has the following

Skills: Climb +2, Hide +2, Swim +2

Body value (melee combat value) of 2

Plus, I have also acquired an Experience Counter of +2 (Melee)

If I'm performig a "Before Combat" skill test. (Let's use a Body Test - Swim (14) as an example)

Can you use your "Experience Counters" +2 , your heroes' skill bonuses (Swim +2) plus the heroes' body value (2) - Thus needing to roll 8.

Or can you NOT use the "Experience Counters", thus need to roll at least a 10?

We've been playing the latter way, but just want to double check.

You making it harder than it is. happy.gif Any and all modifiers relating to either that attribute or skill apply. Since the experience counters modify that attribute, you include them thus needing an 8 or higher to pass.

No wonder it took three days (about 8 hours) to finish the game. That combined with the fact that it was our first time playing it and we probably weren't taking as many risks. I read the directions on Before Combat multiple times and it seemed a tad unclear. Thank you.

Experience counters count as if your body was raised by the number on them so you would use them.
