Walder can be chosen for deadly, as can greatjon.
Favourite little play tricks?

During a challenge, if the attacking player controls

“Deadly” keyword, the defending player must
choose and kill a defending participating character
after the challenge resolves.
I guess it depends on the definition of a "defending participating". It certainly doesnt say "participating character controlled by the defender" I would consider Walder to be both defending and participating in that example, plus I am pretty sure thats how they ruled it in the rules forums a while back.
This is correct. Walder is a defending participating character, so he can be chosen to die for his own Deadly. Control doesn't enter the equation.

According to CS rules you're right guys, I just wonder now if they did not forget: ...choose and kill a defending participating character you control after the challenge resolves."
It means that you can kill (or whatever) a character you don't even control. a bit odd to me, but stated as you said in the rules though..
Rhaenys's Hill + Regroup. I used the combo yesterday three consecutive times: At round 6 I activated the Hill, at round 7 I got it back with Regroup and re-used it and, then, at round 8, I revealed Regroup once more to get it back and use it again. Needless to say, my opponent lost the game. And his temper.

If you've used Regroup on the 7th round, your opponent has right to have lost his temper with you:
you can't reuse the 7th plot when taking back the used plots to hand on the 8th round.
Oh, right. Guess I cheated. Still, powerful combo.

However you do not need to tell your opponent that he is an option unless he asks

In tournament play, certainly not. Not in casual play either, strictly speaking, but winning by taking advantage of your friends' inexperience and ignorance of arcane rulings? Do you really want to be that guy? I can think of several names for people like that, and none of them are pretty

So your friends are pretty ugly, huh? :-D

I don't think I said that, but it is true nevertheless. All my friends are butt-ugly. I am truly a ruby among pebbles.
Now that we speak of it, can it be that the Thrones community as a whole gravitates towards ugliness (me, again, being the notable exception. I'm one pretty lad, I can tell you)? I mean, there must be a reason we have two podcasts and not one vodcast. Faces made for radio, is my bet.

someone sent this question in and nate pretty much said you can kill walder. so either it was intentional, or they did for get; but decided this time to stick strictly to the rules as written rather than setting rules that aren't written anywhere. this is a good thing.
As for those who take advantage of inexperienced players, "That Guy" is the name i usually use.
Excuse me, Ser, but I think you need to meet the A Game of Thrones Community. I myself am one Fancy Lad! I would put Renly himself into a fit of jealousy when he gazed upon my handsome visage. Kennon on these boards spends HOURS on his fake tans and blow dried hair. Dobbler has headshots! Clu is the most attractive man I've ever met. Maester Luke is cute in that girl next door way. Zeiler is just ugly. Darryl is black.

A Fancy DAN is actually what you are.
I didn't know Kennon had tan lines...
Now that I think of it, you guys are sort of Jersey Shore-ish...

Thank you Oshi , I ignored it was ruled this way( no controversy with base rules). That makes sense for once..
New Jaime and shadow politics for non challenge phase challenges
New Cersei, Frey Hospitality, Shadow Politics, and Double Bluff with Power Behind the Throne. So much death.
