This set is called "Wave 1" which implies there will be more.

Originally, when investigator figures were announced, they were canceled, probably due in part to their price. The difference here is that the monsters are currently available for purchase, where the original investigator minis announced were never put up on sale, so these might not be canceled in the end. But I see a long time and a high price attached to rounding out your collection.

There are currently 160 monster tokens in Arkham Horror. Assuming all of them are $4, except for some medium-sized $7 figs and a good number of large $10 figs, I see the total cost of a full monster collection summing near $800.

Yeah that's gonna be a hefty price tag...

Although, it's also worth noting that Descent's "Quest Compendium, Volume 1" never saw a sequel. That book failed due to a large number of printing errors in the initial run, wheras these monster figs appear to have launched without any horrendous gaffes. Nonetheless, the lesson remains that the existence of future waves will depend, at least in part, on how well this first wave sells.

Yeah, we could go back and forth all day like this. I'll say it's pretty likely we'll see more waves eventually, but only time will tell.
