Since i m new in world of Arkham horror,I have the following questions.

1)When my character stop at UP TOWN or SOUTHSIDE do i have an encounter ?

2)Do the monster from encounters moving with mythos cards

3)If there is a gate the a moster do i have to kill the monster first.

4)When a monster apears to my place do i have to make the horror check next turn.(And if i fail i can not move)

Dude, just read rulebook. Everything you asked is clarified in it pretty clarly.

Welcome to the asylum

1) No, there are no encounters when in a street location in the Arkham Encounters phase. The expansion Curse of the Dark Pharoah revised adds some if you want them (and they are fun)

2) No. Monsters from encounters go back to the cup after you or they are defeated. They do not remain on the board and so never move.

3) You could either kill the monster or try to Evade it. Evade is usually the better option. Either way gets you through the Gate in Arkham Encounters.

4) When a monster appears, if you encounter it as part of an Arkham encounter or in an otherworld encounter you immediately resolve the horror and fight checks (though may still evade). If it appears where you are during Mythos, you do not have to deal with it until the Movement phase.

Good luck! Do spend time with studying the rulebook, the game is simple but has many nuances, the most important thing is to stick to the phase order. Even so questions will come up and thats where the good people of this forum come in.

one tweak to dj2.0's answer to #2. If you are defeated by a monster appearing from an encounter, it is returned to the cup. If you defeat the monster from an encounter, you take it as a trophy.
