Just a quick query on where i can find some specifics on how the lasting effect for these 2 cards, and others like them, can be found in the faq?
My understanding was that cards or effects that would blank a text block will not stop cards like cat and drogo being used or returning to hand as they create a lasting effect from an out of play area which will resolve even if the cards text block is blank when it enters play, but i couldnt spot anything conclusive in the faq.
Or have i got this horribly horribly wrong (which will involve much grovelling to my play group)

You should train your play group to suck up every word from your lips as if it was divine nectar, because you are totally right on this one.
That follows from the timing structure of player actions.
The effect initiates in step one of the action window. In step two you have the chance to interrupt (i.e. cancel) the effect. In step 3 of the action window, the effect resolves. Any blanking effects will occur in susequent action windows - *after* the effect has completely resolved (including the creation of the lasting parts of the effect). In other words, by the time the blanking occurs, the lasting effect has already been created and is "out there".
Think of it this way:
You decide to send a mass e-mail to all accounts in the company, in which you slander and gravely insult your boss and include cloose-up photographs of your private parts for good measure (= player action).
Once your boss reads the e-mail, you'll get fired (=Lasing Effect).
When you're finished writing the e-mail and attaching the pictures, you have a chance to reconsider and delete the e-mail before sending it (=cancel).
You decide to hit "send" instead (=effect resolves, Lasting Effect is created).
Of course you can delete the e-mail from your "Sent Objects" folder (=blank the card), but it won't save your sorry ass. Don't let the door hit you etc.
Phew, you gave me a mild panic for a moment when i saw what you had quoted, glad to know i got this one right!
Also kudos on the humour! ![]()
