Yeah, the wording make it sound like it's 1/3rd of the Cerberus building. Which sort of makes sense, considering the expansion comes with a medium walker. Now, whether or not the building is any different from the Cerberus one... dunno. Probably it just has a different doorway or something.
The Russians are coming !!!
I already own 3 Cerb buildings (so it's 9 levels ) and I can use even more! I'm hoping a different style building, but I can live with one more level to my current buildings. I'm buying the kit for Koshka and Gran'ma anyway.
I'm kind of hyped about the SSU already. Too bad that's still months away. Well, more time to paint my existing forces I suppose.

We have to buy this, Mil 4 (is 1/35 Dust scale, no?
Although I dont think the change in scale would make much difference personally (it being on a flying stand and all that) a quick wiki says the Mi4 is 16.8 meters long so even at 1/35 scale thats 480mm, about 5 squares on a dust table.
Not to mension its £55 for that kit.
Nice reference.
If you take into account the reduced transport capability and then the double (coaxial) rotor, the need for a tail rotor (and thus the long tail) is eliminated, put a jet (or kind of) and stabilizers on the shorter tail et voilà! The SSU chopper is not so faulty...
Do we have a release date???
2nd Quarter, that's all.
And yeah, I'm totally fine with the chopper. Sure, it doesn't look "cool", but then again it's not supposed to. It's a compact design, because it has to be, since it has to be propped up above the board by a thin stick. But it has personality and with a good paint job it can probably look very good.
I wonder what the other factions will come up with. I doubt they'll all have helicopters. While planes would be very cool, I just don't see how they could work with the game, since planes can't hover in one place.

They don't need to, you just make a straffing/bombing run with them arrive on one table edge, leave on the opposite. I've been using an ME262 for several months now and they work well.
These rules are for using fixed wing aircraft who undertake a straffing or bombing run to release their payload. Aircraft will arrive on a table edge and have a couple of turns in play before flying off to return on the next turn.
Deployment
Aircraft use their first action to deploy on any square on any table edge. This counts as a Move action as normal.
Movement
The speed indicated of the aircraft card is it’s minimum speed. The aircraft must move forward at least this distance as a Move action for it’s first action of a each turn after deploying. For every 3 squares it moves forward it can move 1 to the left or right, this does not count as part of its minimum move. Aircraft cannot turn or change facing. If an aircraft leaves the table it can return for another run next turn.
Attacks
Aircraft with guns or rockets can only shoot at targets directly in a straight line in front of the cockpit. Targets get a cover save if they are adjacent to terrain separating them from the shooter.
Bombs can only target units that the plane has passed over.
General
Aircraft is ideally based on a tripod so that it can straddle any terrain or unit easily as neither have any effect on the aircrafts movement. The tripod covers one square, regardless of the size of the model, all attacks to and from the aircraft are taken from this square.
okay so my question is besides looks what is their mono color going to be does anyone know as all we saw so far is the painted colors

A greeny-brown probably as Dust Model kits are green and the Russian uniform is greeny to - definately not red!
Did not politicals wear blue trousers? Comissars did IIRC...
I don't understand why they didn't give the SSU an armor 3 infantry choice. The chopper doesn't look that bad and it comes with the chinese troops also making it worth giving it a chance. Also why give them a BBQ type squad?

It almost makes perfect sense that they have a flame thrower squad when you factor in this bit of history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorched_earth
After thinking about the chopper for the since it was first posted I've come to the conclusion that giving it a gritty paint job will make it look fine on the table.
Nikolai's Fury of Ivan variation, the Red Cossak, has been added to Dust-Models 'Coming Soon' section.
Very cool paint job. I wish I knew what Nikolai's abilities were...
And I really have a feeling the Fury of Ivan is bound to show up in the official Dust Tactics lineup some time soon.
'Ludwig' made in Russia?
Definitely anti-tank version of the walker.
Oh sh**... 5 armour, 9 dices against 3/4 armour vehicle... thanks Herr Gott it's rare bastard..
I do not think this is Nikoli's Fury of Ivan. It uses the Nikoli figure, but in the desription it states that this is Commissar "whoever's" Fury of Ivan.
I love the paint job, but I am not holding my breath that this will make it to tactics official status.
The Red Cossak is "Commisar Starinov's Personal KV152-i".
As in "Commissar Captain Nikolai Dimitrievich Starinov".
It's a cool model, and I look forward to it appearing in DUST Tactics, but we've already seen that many of the pseudo-stats put out by DUST Models don't make much sense.
I want to have SSU models, but I can wait until we have solid official stats instead of the oddities DUST Models comes up with.
An (slightly) oversized KV 47 with the Fury of Ivan guns instead of arms would be really good looking...
Official box art spotted!
Hahahaha Frontoviki:D:D Nice pattern, i like those boxes:D
Really beautiful!
And c'mon, there's a frigging Fury of Ivan at the center of the Zverograd logo! Of course that thing will get released officially!
...although... there's been a Jagdluther on the cover of the Revised Core Set for a while now, and yet...

Not to mention that the Jagdluther was mentioned with some stats in the Core set Rulebook.
Awesome box art! I really can't wait. I was originally going to stop collecting everything that came out for this game, but FFG and Dust Studio are both very adept at getting into my wallet.
There goes Grandma and Koshka:
Sulfur Jet + Fighting Spirit ability = almost sure walker kill...
We got cards for Koshka and Grand'ma (which I'm sorry, but really should have been called Babushka)!
First of all, the red cards look awesome. Second, on her own Koshka is surely the limpest hero yet. Her attacks are pityful, even if her grenade pistol's single die ignores cover.
Babushka (yes, I'm calling it that), on the other hand looks pretty good. The weapons don't deal a hell of a lot of damage, but they all ignore cover (I wonder why this howitzer ignores cover, but the Mickey's doesn't). Assault is a killer ability for a flamer walker to have, but what really surprised me was the 5 Health. The Dust Studios' Otto only had 4, so I wander if all the KV-47 variants will also have 5, or if it's just this hero walker. It would be cool if the ruskies' machines were all a little tougher.
But then what about the synergy between Koshka and Babushka? Well, it's really just the Fighting Spirit ability, and at first sight it seems a bit underwhelming. All it does is act like the Spotter ability for a single time in the game. And it also has the caveat that she must move first before using it (I guess they mean MOVE+ATTACK) so you won't even get to use Sustained Fire with that. It's not bad, but considering how useless Koshka is once she ditches the Babushka, I expected a bit more.
Also, can you field one of them without the other?
