How to deal with invulnerable characters?

I seam to run into this a lot, my opponent plays a invulnerable character and I can just not ever get rid of it. What options are there for dealing with such toons. I mean there is Deep One Assault or but it is Loyal and invulnerable characters are sometimes pretty expensive.

Any ideas?

Exhaustion is one way to deal with them (Syndicate is good at this). Insanity is another. (Just yesterday I had the pleasure of driving Yog-Sothoth insane when Jamie Winthrop removed its icons and Hastur made it go insane - good times!)

There are ways to keep characters away from stories (or maybe 1 particular story) temporarily (Behind Bars, Y'Golnac). And destruction, of course, as you recognized.

On the other hand, an invulnerable character is just a character that can't die. You can still out-skill and out-investigate such characters.

exhaustion dosn't really affect the crazy actions that some of these guys have.... the insane thing seams like somthing to try.. and with that new lunitic painter dude... seams viable as well.

Anything that blanks a character's text box is pretty handy as well, this will get rid of Invulnerability.

What sort of actions are we talking about here? Knowing specifics may help.

Another fun thing to do mainly if you're playing Hastur is to take control of their Invulnerable character and use it against them :)

Well I got owed by a Shubby-DarkOne deck recently. I felt I was doing well, as that deck is so slow.. but once it got running it was like a steam roller. I mean paying 2 and being able to place like 9 or w/e dark ones was pretty crazy, and I just couldn't even see how I would be able to deal with this.. I had some attachments to black the text box but he kept destroying them.

Though I never thought if that.. like when it says blank the text box.,.. I didn't think of keywords.. just ACTION:... or DISRUPT:... So yea.. .that could be a way as well.. as in if you remove "invulnerability" suddenly a single wound can kill it... interesting... Dose that also remove the "Ancient One" text?

but this is more a general question... it just seams that getting huge monsters out is getting easier and easier and there still isn't much of a way to deal with them.. so it seams to me anyway. I think the designers might need to beef up the control deck aspect to allow players to negate the powers of some of these crazy unkillable cards.

Yes, blanking the text box blanks the ENTIRE text box. So Ancient One is gone too. Curse of the Putrid Husk is a cheap way to get rid of Ancient One and Invulnerability without having to blank the box too.

For this specific ability, a card like Snow Graves is also useful preventing characters from coming back from the discard pile. Or maybe something like Feasting Ghouls, Canopic Jar, or other cards that let you take a card out of the opponent's discard pile.

You might also be able to target the Dark Young themselves. If they're insane or exhausted or Lethargic Miasma'ed, or tied up in some other way, then Shub's ability cannot bring them back. She can only bring them back from discard.

There's also the timing question. Shub costs a lot, so how early is she going to appear? Can you win before that? It's going to take some time to build up a domain and if they concentrate on only one domain they're not playing as many other good cards. If they diversify, it buys you time.

Can you keep her from appearing somehow? Maybe if you're Miskatonic or Yog you can play cards that let you peek at the opponent's deck and discard her or send her to the bottom of their draw pile where she won't come out again. Not foolproof, as you never have full control, but it helps. Look at cards like Strange Librarian or Prism of Many Views.
