Power on characters / Infamy

By Daenarys, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

My understanding for this is the fact that by having power on characters the benefits for doing so is the fact that if you lose power challenges these can not be took and likeiwse the negative being the fact that if the character dies then the power dies with him. Is this correct ?

If the above is correct then is there any stage when you could move power from a character to the house ? for example if you know your opponent is playing valor as a plot card next and you have a charchter(s) with multiple powerr .

Thanks

Yes, power and gold on characters is lost when the character leaves play for any reason.

No, there is no framework in the game for moving power from characters to your house card or gold from characters to your gold pool. There are certain cards that let you move power or gold between various cards. But obviously there's nothing in the rules for the game that allows for players to do this regularly, otherwise you wouldn't be asking, and there's really no reason to make up such rules (although I remember a post by another new player who reported the people he played with had played with just such a rule, which they had obviously made up, and the new player was rightly confused after having a look at the rule book and not finding any basis for this)
