Minis question

By Mcmanus, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

Hi, wondering if you can buy boxes with pre-painted minis or they always come un-painted.

Thank you!

The Premium Painted line has very nicely painted figures for everything released.

And here they are.

I can vouch for the quality of the Premium Edition (meaning, the pre-painted miniatures): They look great, best pre-painted stuff I've seen. You will pay some extra cash, but in return you get miniatures that look superb, as can be seen in the pics I took here:

Thank you very much!

By the way, that url it0s the only place to buy those premium figures? As I was looking in the FFG online shop and I don't see em.

Most of the premiums are available via FFG as well, but not all (special edition ones that are not tourney legal for example can only be bought from Dust Studio).

How do the premium figis look compared to the garbage that came with AT-43?

Premium figs look very nice and are masterfully painted. The finish is smooth and durable and lacks any brush strokes.

Fixed.

And the premium Dust models look really nice.

Those do look really nice. And I don't think the prices are out of line at all.

That is something that has surprised me from the word go.

Well they look nice but prices are killing it for me. I guess it would be cheaper to pay someone to paint them for you, end the effect would be much better. I do not know how it looks now but the core set walkers are painted just great, the infantry usuall squads are let's say normal, i think they could have a bit more of effort if some pro hobby ainter would get them. But i'm also not a fan of winter camo so this could have a huge impact:D

You might find someone to paint cheaper than the overall cost of the premium figures, but most wirthwhile painters start at the price of the miniatures (which would equal the premium sets but take more time to get them playable), and go up from there.

You might find cheaper painters, but you'd be likely to be getting what you paid for, and not have nearly as nice a look on the models.

The big advantage for paying for painting would be the ability to choose an alternate paint scheme, but paying for painting means buying the figures, and then waiting for the painting to get done before you can play.

It's a trade-off that will be worth it for some, but not others.

+ you get very nice white bases in the deluxe units;)

OFC you can buy them but that only makes the whole thing even more pricey:D
