Chun-Li + Super Fire Wheel

By kraazivaan, in UFS Rules Q & A

I have a question about the interaction between two recently released cards. The relevant text from each is as follows:

Chun-Li

R Commit: After your opponent's second form during their turn resolves, you may play one non-action from your hand as a form.

Super Fire Wheel (attack side):

E: If this attack deals damage, during your End Phase, draw 1 card.

My question is this: If you play Super Fire Wheel as an attack during your opponent's turn using Chun-Li's R, use SFW's E, and it deals damage, would you draw at the end of your opponent's turn, at the end of your next turn, or not draw at all?

Hmmm....

I imagine since it states during YOUR end phase taht even if it dealt damage during their turn you wouldn't be entitled to draw a card.

I'd assume the effect would fizzle at the end of the turn due to game state.

Still not too bad as you'll refill your hand anyway.

This would fall under the same heading as the new Guile, whose ability also has "during your End Phase" in it.

As ruled there, each player has an End Phase during each turn. So yes, you would draw a card. Some would question why you would bother, since you're about to draw up to your handsize anyway...but there's the answer to the question, all the same =P

Given this ruling, you are right, it is kind of pointless. If the ruling had been that you would draw at the end of your next turn, it would give you an additional card on your opponent's next turn, which is somewhat more useful.

There is an advantage here in that you will be able to see more of your deck, even if it's just one more card that you can discard before your draw. It's not that bad.
