Abilities

By Daenarys, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi all, I think i have confused myself and therefore expect the answer for this to be simple but thought i would check nontheless.

When a card refers to cancelling abilities does this mean stealth, deadly etc ?

If so does this also include renown or is this seperate because it is with a charachter as opposed to an infliction ?

Many thanks in advance

Stealth, deadly, renown, joust, intimidate, ambush, etc. are not "character abilities", they are "keywords", and cannot be cancelled. (This is not a complete list, but hopefully you get the idea.)

Ok thanks, so when it says abilities is this strictly the textual context within the card ( excluding keywords ) ?

Thanks

Check out the FAQ, page 8:

(3.7) Card Abilities
"Card abilities" (i.e. "Character ability,"
"Location ability," or "Attachment ability")
refers to anything in a card's text box, except
for traits, keywords, and flavor text. "Card
abilities" also refers to any abilities (again,
keywords and traits are excluded) gained by
card effects

Ok thanks, i understand this but to further elaborate . does this include attahments . For example if daenarys has her ' Dragons do not kneel to attack' cancelled by a card then i understand the impact. If in turn Daenarys had an attachment on her with other textual based enhancements would these also get cancelled.

I think i might be struggling to get to grips purely down to the fact that i only have a couple of core sets and expansions and therefore have not come across specific cancels for locations , attachments.

thanks

Whenever an attachment says "attached character gains X", X is then a character ability of the attached character (unless X is a keyword or trait). In all other cases, the text on an attachment is simply an attachment ability.

Crystal clear now, many thanks all
