If l have 2 ememy adventure cards, both of Strength, but one is encounter number 1 and the other is encounter number 2, are they fought seperately by encounter number or together as they both have Strength.

They are fought separately. They only fight together if they have the same encounter number (last paragraph on page 10 of rulebook)!
