Alright I know this idea seems like heresy (no pun intended), but would it be ok to add Deathwatch enemies to a dark heresy campaign? Some feed back and helpful advice would help, If it works can you give me a few ideas?
Good encounter idea or bad?
I bought myself the "Mark of the Xenos" for this purpose.
But in my opinion, one needs to be very careful with this. Always have an eye on the Unnatural Toughnes and thinkg about reducing the wounds stat by 1/3 for everything that is above 40 wounds. While DH has some ridiculous low wound stats for large/powerful creatures DW does it the other way around.
Ah I see well I was doing some thinking such as keepthing the threat level, but see if the acolytes could think their way out of it instead of fighting.
Example: They are in a lair of a Arch Heretek who was doing weird bio experiments and he hose something behind a very big thick locked door, and if he opens to door...boom carnifex but their are explosives everywhere and maybe some heavy weapons. They can either try to kill it (probably not) or just run.
Basically rewarding the smart...and punishing the less enlightened strategist and tacticians.
I guess they could work straight out of the book, but i just feel that DH Characters couldn't handle the dmg output of many Elite/Master level monsters. Also the elite/master level monster will probably have too much TB and Armour combined with high wounds so they can likely outlast the acolytes (killing them before they kill it).
I think Gregorious is right in that you need to lower the monsters wounds atleast otherwise the players may not be able to kill it even with some gm help.
unless of course you go very cinematic on it all and says "it dies in the explosion"
Like I said the deathwatch creatures don't have to be fought they could run and make it an epic chase scene.
Anyway the reason I asked was becuase I have a tau encounter for them way later just afiraid the tau might turn them into a red paste with their weapons lol.
