Raith,

Did you know that there is a convention being held in Melbourne at the end of May? Nic at Eureka Miniatures is one of the organisers; it might be a good idea to run a demmo there. It is a one day participation and demonstration only event and is to be held at The German Club on the Dandenong Road. I attended last year and it was very good indeed. This year promises to be more of the same.

I will be there with a trade stand but if I get time I would very much like to have a game.

Contact Nic Robson (03) 95684085.

Let me know if you can organise something and I will be sure to bring my figures etc.

Demo Event #7

After Action Report:

Saturday... was hot, very Very HOT, 44 degrees C (111 F, if you prefer) with a blasting dry wind which didn't help at all (23km/h, 14% Humidity, dusty dry desert air).

Walking through the streets of Melbourne today was like walking through them late night on a Sunday, only a few scattered individuals strayed from Air Conditioned stores let alone their homes.

After refreshing myself with copious amounts of water I found myself with little to, there were maybe 2 or 3 people an hour in the store all day, but all was not lost at about 1pm a customer who had previously read the rules and bought a few miniature requested a match and so we set down to business. Aside from this brief battle it seemed that the heat kept people from doing much more than look quietly at the mini's and occasionally ask a question or two.

BATTLE REPORT

Cost: 150pt Battle
Duration: 4 turns

Team 1: Khaine (w/Supernatural Armour), Janiel (w/Afterimage), Daniella
Team 2: Deadmoon (w/Clock of Chronos), Jerome, Sister Hel (w/Raphaels Gift) + Lords of the Abyss Team Card

Setup: Daniella Deployed in Advance of her team taking up position on a ancient ruined wall, to provide cover for Khaine while Janiel lagged behind. In return Hel and Deadmoon skulked amid some ruins and Jerome Infiltrated forward.

The game got off very quickly with Deadmoon running forward using Shadow of the Moon, racing up an ancient tower towards Daniella determined to take out the Archer as quickly as possible. Unfortunately Deadmoon could not reach Daniella and while Khaine advanced Jerome slipped after his Captain but was revealed by Daniella with the Seek Action (after 2 failed rolls) Hel slipped around to the base of the tower hiding from Daniella while Janiel moved forward and tried to cast a spell.

With all the characters clustered around the tower and its ancient wall, Deadmoon leap into combat against Daniella blinding her twice over the next 3 rounds before killing her while Jerome (now hopelessly exposed and unable to hide) made do with attacking Khaine in a more mundane fashion while Hel moved up to tag team.

By the end of round 4 The Lords of the Abyss had taken the wall leaving Janiel to flee to safety.

Anima Tactics will hopefully be at Lil' Wars. I went to last years and was already planning to demo at this years. Thanks for the Info though, it should be a great day.

My trade stand should be next to Eureka; come and say G'day!

Mike

Looked fun. Heck makes me more anxious to get my minis and start painting/playing.
Seems far quicker than WH40K which is funnest with large armies. (and hence less fun on a small scale -> thus takes a lot of time)

Yeah its much quicker than 40k, I can not recall any 40k game taking less than 3 hours when I used to play and most took an entire day for a 3k point side.

If you are a local come along and have a go at the game next time I run an event, bring your own mini's or seeing as I now have 51 of the currently availible 53 you can always borrow some of mine.
