Just making everyone aware a GOT league is starting up at Good Games Burwood Tuesday nights. Details as follows

Where: Good Games, level 1, 195a Burwood Rd, Burwood P (02) 97153229

When: Tuesday nights starting January 17th. 2 games starting 6.30pm then 8pm. League runs for 6 weeks

Format: Standard Melee

Entry:$7 per week

Prizes: Weekly prizes plus an overall league prize (and the glory!) up for grabs

2 melees will be held each night, with your power at the end of each melee counting towards your overall league score. League players can buy GOT LCG products at a 10% discount on the night if they'd like to pimp their deck up before of in between rounds.

They'll be at least 12 players week 1, it will be a fun season of playing GOT

Weekly updates with deck houses will be posted here each week

Just a reminder our first GAME OF THRONES League starts tomorrow night. Quick run down on what will happen:

#2 games per night, starting at 6.30pm and 8pm, running over a 6 week period
#$7 to play, some going to overall pot, some going to on the night prizes
#Players will be split randomly into tables of 3 or 4 per game, depending on the turn outs each night.
#The last night of the league will have the top 8 league players manually paired up for the last 2 league games
#Players count only their best 5 night scores (ie their best 10 games)
#The Power players accumulate during each game goes towards thier overall league score
#Players can play a different deck per game
#Weekly score updates will appear in this thread

If we have forgotten something we'll let you know

This will be a heap of fun. If you'd like to come down and try the game, there will be a couple of spare decks floating around you can borrow, its a great chance to "try before you buy". Its a cool game, and being a 'LCG" is very inexpensive to get into.

Tomorrow night is the final night of the first GG's Burwood Game of Thrones League. Its been 6 weeks of fun gaming, tomorrow night will be the culmination of 15 different players trying to take control of the seven kingdoms!

There will be 2 rounds, at 6.30 & 8pm, followed by prizes and all round hand shakes. The following Tuesday (Feb 28th) no AGOT formal play (although casual games are welcome) as we're running a learn to play Warhammer: Invasion night (with FREE pizza), however, March 6th will kick off weekly Tuesday night Joust (1 on 1) stand alone tournaments (at least until the next league AGOT league kicks off in May!)

Regionals events for melee and joust will be happening April through June for this awesome LCG, if you'd like to have a crack at playing, cruise into your local game store and ask!

Hey Westerosians!

Last night was the final night of the first ever GGs Burwood Game of Thrones LCG league, and it was awesome. AFter 6 weeks of struggling for the Iron Throne, Kenny with his Baratheons (for the first 4 weeks) had built up an unassailable lead over the pursuing pack. Aaron and his snakey Martell team finished second after a very slow start, and Nathan Canty Fried CHicken finished up 3rd with a vast array of different decks, showing that some people just cannot make up thei mind! Nathan Morgan finshed a very honourable fourth, and Loius Armstrong finished a strong 5th, falling victim to having missed 2 weeks.

Kenny walked away with the glory, the Iron Throne, and $70 store credit. Shane, who incidently swept the last round with his conniving Lannisters, won the lucky door prize, the very sexy Game of Thrones second edition board game

The quality of sportsmanship and good natured competition was exemplary, all players deserve warm applause

And finally, the event wouldn't have taken place, or run so efficently, without the excellent behind the scenes work of Eliza at GGs Burwood. To her (and Drew and Caps at Burwood) for running the event in their store for the last 6 weeks, thanks heaps

Next week is a break (come and play casually if you like!), starting March 6th we'll be running weekly Tuesday night joust tournaments. ENtry is just $7, play kicks off at 6.30pm, with fun times and store credit up as prizes.

Another melee league is kicking off in May, more multiplayer madness to come!
