ok, so every single game I've ran so far, the first thing somebody does is aquisitions a bunch of recaf or lho sticks and then they just sit on the list of gear for the rest of forever. does anyone ever put these to use? same has kind of been the same with obscura and other drugs that arent combat helpful.

A group of my acolytes actually got a 15kg bag of recaf in their mission kit once. It involved a stakeout, one of the players decided to brew a pot. It made him keeping 'Overwatch' easier. And I usually trade lho sticks with locals for info...

My DH-PC tend to consume ReCaf and other food stuff as part of the regular roleplaying. I once had them on a surveillance job and among the things they started each description of their daily activity was ... ReCaf.

Other then that, the PC in my groups tend to stay away from "recrenational drug abuse".

My group loves recreational drug abuse. My own Rogue Trader has a collection of Best-Craftsmanship Lho-sticks from all the planets we have visited, and the Psyker's room is so thick with the fumes you practically need a toughness test not to pass out in there. >_>

Lho-sticks and recaf are fun. What more do you need.
