After watching and reading several reviews with mixed scores I'm torn between buying and not.

Some say the game is too random, others say the game has small replayability other say the game mechanics don't allow for strategy, then there are others who say the game is great, the mechanics are very good and that in the end is a very fun experience.

Now, my main problem is, this game is expensive where I live, the base game costs 70€(roughly 90$) and the expansion 35€(more or less 45$).

The thing is, besides being expensive my usual gaming group has 3 players(including myself) with the occasional(Rare?) 4th and 5th player.

I already have Arkham Horror, Innsmouth, Dunwich, king in Yellow and the lurker and with roughly the same ammount for MoM+Exp I can instead buy The dark pharaoh revised+Miskatonic Horror+Black goat of the woods and 5 Arkham horror bone dice and I just can't make up my mind. Sure the expansions would turn arkham into a whole different game with more "variants" but MoM is an entirely new game.(I could also get TI3 and Dark pharaoh but I guess with the usual 3 players we would't enjoy TI3 much).

I'd like to hear what you guys would do in my stead.

I say buy it. Its a great game and one of my favorits. Im also a huge Arkham Horror fan and one of the things I really enjoy about mansions is how its set in the same setting with the same characters but has such a completely different flow. Ive run through most of the scenarios a few times and sofar I dont see a problem with the replayability, its not greak but its ok. Second time around you can still switch things around a bit, the players will have more of a clear idea what they are after which in my groups case hasnt been a bad thing. Ive had some really great moments with this game and I think most lovecraft fans will enjoy it. I would however wait with buying the expansion until the reprint is completed, just to many mistakes made and you shouldnt buy a product that has such serious flaws. But as soon as its available im going to get myself the expansion.

Miskatonic and Black Goat are not very well designed expansions of arkham (to say the least and won't bring anything new to your arkham experience (except for the corruptions of the black goat if you use fan made materials). The dices are useless. So I'd say, give MoM a try, it is worth it, especially compared to the expansions you are planning to buy. Dark pharaoh is great though.

I ultimately bought it and I also ordered the expansion with it and already contacted FFG for the replacement parts but I don't know how do they handle international support.
