I've just bought the Kingsport Horror so that I couldn't remember the character's name. He begins the game at the dreamland. I wonder what happen when he returns to the Arkham without the open gate for the dreamland?
A question about the Dreamer.
Lost in Time and Space, as per usual.
He probably won't be Lost in Time and Space, because he was designed to begin with a Gate Box and one of his abilities is that he can't lose the Gate Box unless he allows it. He would return to any open gate of his choosing.
Also, I wonder if there are specific rules for playing three big expansion pack ; Dunwich, Kingsport and Innsmouth with the original game at once, such as modifying the number of players as well as a monster limit change. I already know there are few advantages for the multi-expansion game, what I meant is for three.
There's nothing specific for all three: only the cumulative –2 player handicap for using 3 boards, and the +1 gate limit for using both Dunwich and Innsmouth.
Isn't it an advantage rather than a handicap for the players that they get -2 modifying for the number of the players?
And If I can get that advantage for the three-expansion game, that must be the tip I've been looking for. I thought It should be -1 not -2.
Thank you.

Let's say it's more a compensation rather than an advantage: with all expansions in play, you have 20 unstable locations and a much bigger area to cover, thus your efforts are compensated by a number of investigators' reduction. Consider you play with four investigator: for each expansion board after the first one, you have a "free" character to work with

I think Tibs meant that the players are handicapping the GAME, not themselves. Because the game is obviously alive, and if you played with all 3 expansion boards without putting it on a bit of a leash, it would chew you up and spit you out in record time without thinking twice about it.
Ah, you are right, of course, Tibs. Sorry, I was just going by memory, and I completely forgot about Luke's Gate Box.
I think I've been using "handicap" backwards.
I just tried searching for an antonym for "handicap," and while synonym.com couldn't help me, the site's logo does contain a clue token (literally).

How about “compensation”?

Handicap is an auto-antonym ; that is to say, it is an antonym of itself. Here is list of more such words:
Aha! Thanks Jack. I'll continue to use "handicap" then.
The -2 handicap also applies to the hit points of the ancient one in play if it wakes up or only the monster and gates limits?

It influences everything but the number of successes needed to remove a doom token from the doom track during Fina Battle. This is not in the rulebook, but was later clarified by the game designer
