Winter is Coming!
Our premier A Game of Thrones event of 2011 kicked off with a great turnout of 17 players despite of the appalling weather. By calling the event ‘Winter is Coming’ we had apparently invited the snow.
With every house represented, although some more than others, we started the day with three rounds of joust. By the end of round three we had three players that had gone 3 – 0, which included the only Lannister and the only Greyjoy player and Martell making up the third. The Greyjoy was running no agenda and both the others had The Maester’s Path. Almost a third of the players were running The Maester’s Path for the joust rounds with no agenda being more popular than any other single agenda.
After a short break for lunch we moved quickly into the two rounds of melee. The first round winners were one Baratheon, one Martell, one Targaryen and two Stark players with only the Targ and one Stark player running agendas, Siege of Winterfell and The Maester’s Path. The second round saw three Baratheon players top their tables.
After points had been tallied the top 4 overall was Baratheon, Baratheon, Lannister and Martell in that order. Congratulations to Kev and Chelly who were 1st and 2nd, and are from our local player base, and also to Lee and Keith who took 3rd and 4th and had travelled in from Coventry and Liverpool.
For those who are interested the house breakdown was:
Baratheon – 5
Martell – 5
Stark – 4
Targaryen – 2
Lannister – 1
Greyjoy – 1
Neutral – 0
The agenda break down was;
Joust Melee
No Agenda 4 7
Siege of Winterfell 1 2
The Maester’s Path 5 4
Heir to the Iron Throne 1 1
Knights of the Realm 3 0
Knights of the Hollow Hill 1 2
City of Shadows 1 1
Rangers/Stewards/Builders 1 0
Thanks to everyone who came and made this such an enjoyable event. Hopefully we will see all of your again on 22nd January for our next event which is joust only.
